I have a 2012 RT Max and I have a VERY annoying rattle in my Dash. It's not the poping that everyone is experienceing I'm refering to, I also have that issue, but this is something in or under the Dash that is rattleing. It almost sounds like a feed back noise from a speaker or bluetooth device. It does not do it when the car is sitting still and it continues to do it when the radio and or AC is off. I also turned off my phone to eliminate feedback and that didn't work. This is a plastic peice that makes noise when you are riding down the road. The more vibration you have from the road the worse it gets. If you are traveling on a VERY SMOOTH newly paved road it doesn't do it...HELP!!! I have 12K on it. I would like to hear from yall before hounding the dealer about it....

I have a 2011 and mine foes the same. It sounds like its the dash but it's actually the mount for the sun visors. The next time it rattles, un hook it and see if that's the noise.

I have a 12 SXT and got the same thing 1000 miles the rattle sounds like its coming from the passenger side of the dash near the airbag. I plan to go to a dealer. No way this is coming from a sunvisor. This is coming from where the dash sits against the defroster vents.

I have the popping in my dash that was mentioned. Anyone have a link to where that has been discussed? I haven't been able to find it from my phone. I would like to learn some more, then ask some people at work what they know.

When I start my 12 the right side dash near the airbag makes a weird sound but haven't noticed it while driving. Almost like a vent closing...

I notice my 2012 R/T+ has the same slight rattle when going over bumpy or ruff roads not there all the time just when it wants too.

I've got a rattle that seems to come from the dash near the windshield on the driver's side. It is a metallic buzzing sound that occurs at speeds over 55 mph and also when a song is playing that has a lot of bass. I also get a load "pop" from the windshield/center of the dash area once the car begins cooling down after being parking in the hot sun all day. The pop only occurs once. I'll be taking it in soon for a the first oil change(doing that one at 3K) so I'll have the rattle looked at as well. Otherwise, the car is completely rattle free.

My wife has a 2011 RT Max and she had the same problem as the OP. I swore it was in the dash, drove us nuts. Could never find the rattle. Then one day out of frustration I bopped the plastic cover over the rearview mirror mount on the windshield. The rattle was there where it meets the sunglass holder and I haven' had a problem since. It sure sounded like it was coming from the dashboard somewhere, and even taking it to the dealership hadn't located the issue. Check up around the sunglass holder/review mirror mounts too. For whatever reason the acoustics were making it sound like it was under the dash or inside the defrost vents. good luck.

mine for the record has lots of rattles and squeaks too many for a new car and a 35000 car at that. The map lights lenses rattle too sometimes just at idle you can put your finger on the lense and it stops. The windshield creaks and pops as mentioned but the dash rattle coming from just over the right side of the radio is driving me crazy. I have considered it could be coming from the sunglasses holder. I get so mad I smack the dash and it seems to stop for a while but comes back. My drivers door panel also produces a squeak when pushed on too. I get the same squeak from my brake pedal. YEAH MY BRAKE PEDAL! I think this is all sorta crazy and really poor build quality for such an expensive car. I would expect this from a Fiesta or Escort or something but not a top of the line Dodge Charger. Going to the dealer Monday morning at 10 am. Enough is enough

Oh i thought it was only me! What the hell is with all of this rattling and popping from the dash?? I also get popping from all of the speakers. We buy a moderatly expensive car and they cheap out on the dash!

I have a 2003 TL - not a single rattle, pop or any noise ever in 9 years!

I get a crack and pop from the windshield but figue it's from the temperature or a body twist. Either way it's annoying. Anyone find a remedy?
I have the pop/cracking noise from the dash corners near the speakers. Its driving me bananas and seems worse as the cold temperature comes. I really can't take much more of it. Also my rear dash is starting to rattle with low bass tones while listening to music. I tried to see if it was the baby seat anchor covers but its not. I know this isn't a $100k european car but its not a POS civic or accent either. What gives?

I really sucks, you buy a 30K+ car and you get this BS! The colder it gets the louder the noise, it sounds like it comes from the speakers sometimes especially with talk radio

Hello lane05,
This probably is not a solution, but the following cured a light dash rattle on my 2011 Charger. As you probably are aware some rattling sounds may be coming from a different area that you think it is originating from.

If you have not seen the following, try looking hear:

Open the front door and /or passenger front door to the second detent position (gives the widest viewing area) and see if the gap between the inner side of the fender and the outer side of the fender liner is blocked by a large piece of black closed cell foam.
On my 2011 Charger, the black foam piece (approx 2 feet long, 3 inches wide, 1/2 thick is loose and laying horizontally in the inner fender area. I can squeeze my hand into the little gap around the hinges and move the foam piece all over the place and relocate it to its proper vertical position. Looks like a source of rattleing or wind noise (you can see daylight coming from the front of the car so possibly a source of airflow).
I am not quite sure if the foam piece is supposed to be bonded (cannot feel any glue residue on the foam piece) or just supposed to be mashed into the gap area.
I also have a 2006 Magnum and it has a foam piece totally closing the 2 foot vertical gap between the inner and outer fender area rigidly fixed in place. On the 2011 Charger, I can read the embossed part number (68043211AB drivers side).
If you Google the part number, you can get to a Dodge parts catalog site to see a drawing of where the part is located (i.e. just forward of the door hinges). Looks like the inner wheel well shroud would need to be removed to get access to properly affix the foam piece whether it is supposed to be bonded in place or "mashed" (cannot think of a better word) into the area.
On your car if the foam piece is properly installed and no gaps exist then this is probably not your problem. But a loose large piece of foam rattling around and perhaps exposed to some high speed airflow between the fender liners may be a cluprit.

Will have to try these tips but it's so far been frustrating trying to localize the noise. It occurs only when the car is moving, obviously making it unsafe to duck down or reach around too much to try and localize it. Grrr.....

my main rattle as coming from the lenses of the map lights. sounded like the dash but had the upper console where the map lights are replaced and no more vibration. I had actually fixed this on my own befor the new parts came in without even trying. I took a couple credit cards and squeezed them in thinkinging i was just gonna temporarily ease the noise. I rode around a few days and took the two cards out and somehow it must have pushed the lenses into the correct groove because no more rattle. Of course I let them change the part anyway!

Just figured out the cause of mine tonight while pulling into my parking space. It seems there's a small cover/access panel just behind and to the right of the parking brake release. Whatever is holding it in place, it's not held down on the back end at both corners but only in the middle. The rattle is caused by it rapidly swaying left & right with vehicle vibrations.

Now... the fun part will be figuring out how to stop that!
