Well I dropped my car off wednesday at Diablosport for it to be dynoed and tuned with the Diablo predator.... I picked her up yesterday and the results were very impressive.... Nice gains in HP and Torque and no more shift lagging...
Here is what you guys have been waiting for:

Excellent question. I'd like to know as well. Hopefully when this gets released in "consumer form" (not custom tuned for a specific vehicle for optimum performance) some comparisons between the Diablo/SC/Jet will surface. And yes, Diablo is promising some nice features and customization, but a comparison between OTS (off-the-shelf) products would be nice.

jman45: Was that a custom tune on your vehicle by Diablo or did Diablo just hook up the tuner and load the generic tune?

nice thats whats up...BUT...is 400 beans worth it for 10-15 hp or is there more power to unlock with the programmer?

The programmer promises to give you better access to the pcm and tcm. Some of the possibilities, with custom programming, include changing out gears or even supercharging. Without the possibility of custom programming, the tool wouldn't be worth $400.

A little HP gain is nice for sure. I'm mostly interested in the driveability - getting rid of the lousy transmission characteristics, like torque management and the lazy shifting. I plan on lowering my fan activation temp a little, stuff like that.
Sure, it's an expensive tweak, but one I still look forward too, especially since they're hinting at more, so much more.

Looks like a really nice gain from about 4300 RPMs. That's pretty much where the car spends it's time during a quarter mile run.

$400. for 15hp isn't bad. People spend more for some mods but see less of an increase :)

ERBIII: This was a custom tune using the Predator tuner.... What they did was load up a generic tune and then made modifications to it according to the mods I had done and the octane fuel that I was ruinning (93)... They also messed around with the torque management and the shifting....

Pimplay2: The tune was for free....

Will the diablo be able to save a custom tune under a profile? What if I get a custom tune, then want to return it to stock to get warranty work done, then want to put my custom tune back.

Alright.... I got stuff straightened out.... What the guys at Diablo did was create a generic tune using my car for the Diablo Predator... They basically tuned my car according to the mods I have and saved it on the predator... So by doing this, once you guys buy the Diablo predator, you will be able to load this same tune into your car as if you were using SC, etc....

Here goes the link to the LX forums where Mike from Diablosport set things straight:

10-15 horse power increase, on my srt8, my car pulls harder than when i added my cam, which was supposed to give me 25+ horse power. i can tell you right now, ive gotten at least 25 horses from the diablo. but they did say, it would give more power to the srt8 and than the rt

Go to the track and show us the time slips before and after the tune.

Well, I roughly paid ~$100 per HP when we bought a Charger R/T ... So $400 to gain 10+rwhp, it's a no brainer LOL

quick ? i just orderd the diablo tuner i have a 2007 charger srt8 with airraid cai stage 2 jet chip 180stat throttle body spacer and zoomers cat back how should i set it on the tuner? like the rev limiter shift point and all that good stuff

First of all get rid of that Jet chip.Sorry if I hurt your feelings but its worthless,Not to mention they recommend not to use that with there tunes.
Second of all great news!!! You got the Diablo. When you get it it really is self explanatory..You will use the CAI tune.Just follow the directions on the tuner itself.Very easy..

Just got mine in today and hooked it up. I set up the CAI 93 octane tune with increased shift firmness and raised the top speed limiter (Duh!). I'm planning on taking it in to maybe get a custom tune at some point, but from taking it out this afternoon I could DEFINITELY tell an increase in hp and torque... I almost ended up in a ditch underestimating what this guy could do!

Thats exactly what I did a few months ago. The car is alot stronger it seems with the settings like that. The only other thing I did other than richen the fuel and advance the timing was bring my shift points to 6200 RPM. I'm happy with the way the car is set up. I can spin the tires with just a sharp tap on the pedal and sometimes if I do it right can chirp her going from 1 thru 2 (I always drive the car in autostick mode, never used automatic since day one). Could never do that before. Also the car feels like its slams right through the gears 1 thu 5 with that snap of the neck feel at WOT.

Where does the diablo hook up to?
