(Also posted this at lxforums.com but thought I'd post here, too.)

Here's a news article that indicates Chrysler might offer the same "employee discount" offer that GM is running now.

My guess is that it wouldn't apply to SRT-8's or factory orders since the usual goal of these types of offers is to move dealer inventory (of which there would be none for these).

Anyone buying a DC car now is crazy. Wait for the better incentives. G.M. has rased the bar on deals and DC will have to match it or watch its customers drive by in a G.M. car. If your looking to buy a DC car hold off for now and keep more money in your pocket, better prices are around the corner.

Interesting that Toyota,Honda and Nissan don't seem to be hurting in sales agaist G.M. this month.

GM has raised the bar because there cars are boring and plain. Why should DC follow when we can't keep any LX cars on the lot (besides the magnum).

Come on steve. All the Local dealers have plenty of LX's in stock and very good discount prices(everyone can get whatever they need). The 0% lease rates have helped clear some 2005's(Those 2005 Magnum R/T's are still not moving). Without incentives even the LX's will stay sitting in the lots. Customers expect incentives and I don't blame them. It sucks to pay top dollar for a car and find out next month you could of saved $2,000-$5,000. DC has no choice to follow. Lets hope G.M. Canada gets on the program to force everyones hand. Customers are best to wait for the incentives to heat up.

IF DCX offers the employee pricing to the general public, it will ONLY be for 2005 inventory. So if your waiting for that deal to buy your 2006 Charger, it's not going to happen.
At first. Then after the 2005 inventory is gone they will have to continue it on the 2006's. Customers control the market. Don't buy and the prices will come down.

Remember this is not costing G.M. that much money. The majority of the discount is out of the dealers pocket. G.M. still sells the car to the dealer at the same price they did last month. The only difference is that the dealer only makes a small amount(about $400-$500) from G.M. for each sale(thats the only additional cost to G.M). This is a great idea from G.M. I wonder why it hasn't happened before.
