Hello all,

My name is Jed and I live in Kansas. Just purchased a 2013 Charger SXT Plus with the Rallye package and I absolutely love it!!! I have an automotive background (2 college degrees plus mechanic time) but now am an engineer in the aircraft industry and gooooooodness cars have changed a lot in 16 years!!

This is the first car I've had in a long time that I can actually play with so am looking forward to doing some small mods here and there. Mostly for mileage since I drive about 3000 miles a month.

First steps are blue LED's to go with the Pearl Blue paint, Airaid Cold air intake, Airaid Throttle body spacer and maybe a resonator delete (need input on that one). Currently working on updating the maps but need help so will be asking questions.

Looking forward to learning a lot from this forum, meeting some new friends and with every ones help putting together a bad a$$ car!!!

Jed

Throttle body spacer is a waste of time/money, but the Cold Air Intake really helps the milage (esp on the highway)

Don't delete the resonators..the Pentastar V6 is very smooth but drone prone. Without some type of resonators it will drone you to death at the all important 2,000 to 2,400 rpm range which is right in the meat of the rpm band the engine runs at while at a fast cruise (highway) or accelerating around town.

Your model should have the true dual exhaust, so just delete the skinny little front mufflers with some straight pipes for a nice sound boost.

If you have the absolute crap fake dual exhaust (see pic) then thrash it and replace with a cat back system with some small resonators on the end.

Welcome to the Forum! It sounds like you are already a convert. :)

Skip the TB spacer, it's a waste of money and won't do anything for you except make your wallet lighter. The CAI is debatable on performance gains, but it will improve the engine sound a bit.

PM Krautmaster and 'Cuda for the exhaust system. They have both done them on the SXT with very good success.

Best advice on the Forum is to learn how to search. This place is a treasure trove of information and most of the ground you want to cover has been paved by other members before you. Take advantage of their learnings and make them your own...and don't be shy about asking questions, folks here are always willing to help.

Thanks all! Really appreciate the input on the exhaust, I've been looking for some feedback and couldn't get any from the guy at the muffler shop.

I tend to agree with the throttle body spacer but I bought the Airaid (EconoAid) 1022 and if it gains me even 1/2 mpg for $33 it will be worth it. Plus it's only .032" thick so shouldn't affect position of any components... I hope. If it's a waste of money I'm not out much.

Biggest problem I'm having is updating maps. I need a Garmin guru.

Welcome. I'm not a brand fan, just a car fan. Whoever makes a good model, I consider.

There is a thread on here to help you update to 2015 maps for free! Search :)

Thanks, I agree with what you're sayin... I guess it would be more accurate to say I'm an "American" fan, even if they are mostly built in Canada or parts come from Mexico!! Lol! It's only the big 3 for me.

I wrote a post on the thread about updating maps and unfortunately haven't got much for positive help yet. I can't get my Nuvi 3597 into Mass Storage Mode because the touch screen doesn't work. There has to be a way to do it even if I have to take darn thing apart. Heck if I could find a screen and digitizer for a decent price I'd just fix it and let my wife use it in her car between updates but haven't been able to do that either.

I have already found so much great information in here though and looking forward to learning more!!
