So I came across this on ebay last week, I've always read reviews on them and they seemed to do the job. I got this for a really good price after waiting for the bidding to end. I'm going to try it out tomorrow morning before the local meet and greet....

Has any one used one before and if so what soap would be used to achieve the most foam....

Here are 2 videos that I recorded with my phone trying this bad boy out. I'm using adams car wash soap in the gun, also I have the gun set on the 2 hole which is not fully open its barely open. Imagine if I were to have this bad boy set on fully open meaning foam galore. This video was recorded with my phone so the quality is not that good.....

Did a search for the foam car wash gun and most listed something similar to "turns your favorite car shampoo into super thick, long-lasting foam".

Let us know how well it works.

It has to be better than the Mr. Clean one.

Same info I got too, I'm going to throw some adams wash in it and test this bad boy. I had the Mr clean one along time ago and they suck. IMO no offense to any one who has one....

I have looked at numerous videos on this bad boy and I think I'm going to love it. It doesn't replace the bucket method just loosens up the grime and dirt before you touch the surface with your sponge....

I'll post some pics of the suds it throws when I try it out....

Yes Sir!!! You just have to make sure that the sliding mechanism is adjusted properly. If you have it set to on the smallest setting it wont mix well enough and youll have more water than soap, if you have it wide open it will be a half and half mix but your soap will be gone in a matter of seconds.

What I do is hose the car off real well with just water, mix 2oz of soap with 6-8 oz of water and set the slider somewhere in the middle so I get a nice foam up. Hose it down and it'll use most of that solution, then let that sit for a minute or 2 while I make my second batch of soap/water, then rinse.
This time I set the slider back a little so it preserves more of the mixture and I spray the car as I wash it. Washing the car I use the 2 bucket method with a lambs wool mit and only do a little area at a time.

The purpose of the foam is not so much as a cleaning aid but it lifts the road grime and debris away from the paint so it doesn't scratch the surface and basically carries it away. You dont want to do a large section of the car because you are basically just dragging the sand and debris over the rest of the car.

You also dont want to use alot of pressure on your first pass over the car because it defeats the purpose of the foam if you are just grinding it in. Use light pressure on the first pass, get all the loose crap off, then clean your sponge or mit well and go back after those baked on bugs and tar.

Shane

2 good videos on the subject. This guy hangs out at the vette forums alot. You'll notice that when he actually sprays the foam gun for the first time he had the foam gun setting on full foam and when he switches you can notice its more water, he just had the settings backwards.

I forgot to mention that I do use the dirt guards that you place in the nottom of the bucket and they are a life saver. Good Luck and have fun!

A face only a mother could love!

You have the same gun I have. The videos that Snatch posted pretty much explains how to use it and what its purpose is. One thing to note is, it does NOT power dirt off the car. That is not its purpose. So if that is what you are looking for, this device is not for you.

Here I am in my garage showing what it will do on a setting of full foam.

X2

I've had "spiderwebbing" from their 'special' soap that could only be seen once the car was dry. Then it was a PITA getting that "spiderwebbing" of soap off. It happened to me twice and I put the Mr. Clean thing back in it's nice little case and haven't opened it again.
