I recall reading somewhere that the Charger suspension was based on the Mercedes? If so, is it just a complete transplant, or just a redesign on an existing class? And if so, which model?

The rear suspension was loosely based off the old E-Class but made in steel instead of aluminium.

So more of a redesign than a transplant for certain.

The 5-Speed auto that is built in Indiana is a Merc design too. And they share some bits like the turn signal stalk and what not but nothing too major. The AWD system is based on the Merc 4-Matic (Magnum and 300 only for now). I think the stability program and brake assist are also.

Which is unfortunate, because it's one of the more awkward turn signal placements I've ever encountered.

Both front and rear suspensions from laying on the ground perspective anyway, remind me alot of my old 93 thunderbird supercoupe. Interestingly the car drives almost identical to how it did.

Me likes.
