Charger 12" 3.6L Bad warm start.

Hi guys, I have a problem with my 12" charger sxt. Recently I've replaced both fuel pumps because the old ones gave up, and now I'm having issues with warm starts. The engine is turning longer than usual sometimes it doesn't want to start at all or sometimes starts on the second try. I've also replaced cam position sensor, crankshaft sensor, spark plugs, battery, engine temperature sensor and now even injectors on one side because diag showed that there might be more lean mix on bank 1, but issue still persists.

Did anyone here have a similar issue or have any idea what else could be wrong? Diag doesn't show any other issues or errors.

Thank you.

Hi Stonde:
Welcome to the forum. How many miles or km on it? It sounds like your fuel system is not maintaining proper pressure after shutting down for the next start. What brand pump did you go back in with? If there is a regulator or check valve, either one may be leaking.
Hopefully the sensors you went back in with were oem, or at least good quality. Dodge vehicles can be very picky about non oem sensors.

Thank you.
Well, It's about 70K miles. I bought Delphi fuel pump especialy FG1588 and sending unit FT4028, so cams and crank sens. are Delphi too. Temp sensor - OEM. You know what wierd is? When she's cold she starts great. I mean hard start, no prime. I go to the grocery and after sitting 20 mins, hard start when the engine's hot.

I'm just about buy OEM these sensors and mopar fuel pump.

Once again thank you!
Hi Stonde:
Delphi is (or was) known to make some pretty good stuff, so I would hold off an shotgunning any more parts, especially recently replaced ones, until we can drill down a bit more. 70k is quite low for a '13. Have you owned it since it was new?

Hey Don,

Yeah, I got you and I want to do that. Nope, I bought it used, It was 35k miles. I own it for 6 years and there was no problem till now. I'm pretty sure it started after replacing the fuel pump. So. I replaced battery for new one before replacing fuel pump.

I don't want to**
Ok on buying it with 35k. If the starting issue appeared after the new FP went in, it may be defective. I'm surprised that your oem FP died at such a low mileage.

Give this a try. Next time you go to start it after it's warmed up, cycle the start button (don't press the brake pedal) a couple of times between ACC, Start, then back to off. Then, hit it again, this time pushing the brake pedal as you normally would. If it starts right up, it sounds like the new pump is not maintaining the pressure where it should be for the next start.

I'm sorry, I was busy.

Ok, I've tried and it's better. But I've tried also one more thing, I've pressurized the system, left it for 5 mins, after 5 mins I've started the car and I have the same issue. It really looks like the fuel pressure is dropping somehow.
