At some point in one of the forums I saw a link for Carbon Fiber hood scoops to replace the plastic deal the car comes with. I can't seem to find it now. Don't know why.

I am making some changes to the engine and would like to "tweak" the exterior ever so slightly.

Can anybody tell me where I find a Carbon Fiber hood scoop for a 2010 SRT8. I have no grill in the scoop.

Also, if you think you have found something better...... I'd love to see it. Maybe a unit painted to match the body..... etc.

Check Stack Perfomance.... I'm pretty sure they have the CF scoop.

Carbon By Design used to make the insert you're talking about, but they don't show it on their website anymore ...

Here's a fast photochop of the insert painted. The stock one is below.
Thanks for taking the time.... I thought of working it on PS (I am a Pro Photographer and use it daily) but I did not want to take the time. The issue is that I don't know how the plastic unit will take the paint. That's why I was wondering if anyone had done it.

Thanks again!

No sweat bro! Painting plastic is no big deal if it is done properly by some one who knows how to do it (remember our fascia and rear bumper are essentially plastic). I think the trick with the insert is in the prep of smoothing out the surface before painting so it comes out looking like the surrounding metal hood.

Update: I contacted Carbon by Design and they told me they could wrap my original unit. The cost was quoted at $200.

I know somebody had this installed..... I need to find it... I would love to see a photo before I spend the cash.

Also, now that we are at it.... does anybody have the Carbon Fiber rear diffuser?

you might check out some local graphics places. see if they can wrap it with carbon fiber-like wrap.

just remove the scoop and take it to them. I think it would look just as good and be a lot less expensive.

as for the doing the rear difuser, if it were me I wouldn't waste the $$. it's so low that the carbon fiber finish would be hardly noticible without direct sunlight on it. I would suggest you do the mirror caps in CF, along with your scoop and maybe your rear wing. even the decklid rear panel in CF might look good.

just a suggestion.
