Title says it all. I have a non-wide-body Scat Pack with 245/45R20, and I wanted to get the 275/40R20. Is it doable without damaging the car?

No, wide body wheels have the wrong offset and will not work properly on a narrow body car.

So are you now just asking if you can put 275 series tires on a standard body? If so, 275’s on a 9.5” wide wheel is a factory option, and many people have put 275 series tires on the stock 9” wide base wheels with ease (myself included).

Yes. They originally asked if wide body wheels would fit a narrow body car.
