Ever since a few months ago when I installed my AFE CAI, the outside temperature gauge on my car has been reading off. Sometimes as much as 20-30 degrees. I never really cared, but my friend just installed a CAI on his vette, and he is having a similar problem. Is this a common problem when installed a CAI?

I thought the outside temperature gauge was located somewhere in the brake air ducting

its not related to the cold air system at all. I'm pretty sure the sensor is up near the grill.
Run codes, (remember not all codes set a check engine light). If the aat fails it uses cts or iat as backups and those are off temp wise but as close as the car has. Cts measures coolant temp and iat measures intake air both of those are not neceassarily anywhere near outside temp
