What would be better for a CAI for a 2014 r/t? Getting a Mopar cai that's probably be around $450? Or something else? What be the benefit's in having a mopar cai and having another cai brand? If there's no differences then why is mopar priced twice as much as other brands?

I would recommend any LMI CAI as they have proven to produce best power and sound. As for Mopar products, you pay for the name.

The reason the MOPAR CAI is the price it is is because it is a dealer part....Nuff said.

There are lots of differences in CAI's. Some are enclosed, some use the hood for separation with a seal, some are true CAI and require modifications to fit. I am also in the market for a CAI and have done quite a bit of research. I can only give you guidance based on what I want, which is a race style intake. That being said, the LMI intake is what I am setting my sights on.

I see you are located in California. Better check with your laws there. I've heard that the only CAI that will pass inspections there is the MOPAR one. Hopefully someone else will chime in on that matter.

If you have to pass visual inspection, then the Mopar CAI (with its CARB exemption sticker) is the only game in town. I use one on my V6 and it is fine, you just have to shop around (a lot) for a good deal.

If you keep your OEM intake and swap it out for inspection, it doesn't matter what you use for the other 364 days a year. ;)

I was just reading around on the issue and people said to just buy whatever CAI your looking at and just swap it back to the factory intake when you have to take the car for inspection. You mostly fail because of visual and not emission? So if its just a visual thing I don't really have a problem with changing it back since its not a everyday thing. I just really don't want to spend on a over priced part when there's other stuff for cheaper. Ill just have to keep researching. Ill probably end up getting me a LMI.

Not when the police inspect your car! It happens occasionally to folks who get pulled over. The officers check all your lights, horn, tire wear, loudness of the mufflers, and sometimes look under the hood. Admittedly, it is usually teenagers in obnoxious rice burners that get the full treatment.

Well if I were a cop i'd stop a obnoxious ricer too lol. But yeah I haven't heard of police checking peoples car. None of my friends or family has had that happen and my most of my friends have modded wrx's or modded genesis and so on and even a friend got stopped for a dui and they didn't check his car but it doesn't mean it wouldn't happen.

We carry all the major brands for the charger platform, and all have their own benefits and everyone has their own preference.
That said we run LMI on our own rides :) my .02
Here is a link to the LMI products

Do you have one to fit a '15 SRT 392 in Blue and if so is it Dyno Proven and to what? I am looking for a good CAI.

I replied to your other thread. The LMI true is the way to go if you want the most gains from a CAI. It is dyno proven and has been tested to death by tons of reputable sources/members including the creator himself (who is a member of this forum).

All other "short ram" CAIs are going to net you about the same gains.

So I've been monitoring my air temp vs outside temp. While driving on the stock SRT setup I'm seeing 7-10 degree differences. That's not worth chasing to lower...
It's not just about temperature, it's also about turbulence. The smooth intake tube of a CAI plus the high-flow air filter improves total air flow which is where most of any gain comes from.

You won't get much out of any CAI other than sound but the really good ones like LMI can give you a little bit of performance gain.

Try monitoring your air temps in August and see if it's still just a 7-10 degree difference.

not taking price into count, how is the LMI better than the Mopar parts? Will LMI give you a better performance boost? Also, how would it compare with the S&B High performance Dual Cone Filter?
