I have been putting together the parts to upgrade my brakes to the 2014 Police specs (BR9 package). I already have the 13.8" Police Brakes on the rear, but only R/T spec (BR5) up front. So far I have received the rotors, calipers & carriers, and pads, but I'm still waiting on the backing plates and hydraulic hoses. The calipers and pads are a lot larger (and I have already painted the calipers red), but the rotors are ridiculous!

Parts list:

Rock Auto.com

Power Stop drilled slotted rotors: AR83092XPR $75 each/$150
Power Stop Z37 "Top Cop" pads: Z37-1767 $40
Left caliper/bracket: Cardone 18B5497 $85 (includes core charge) the calipers are made by Akebono and are all iron (heavy)
Right caliper/bracket: Cardone 18B5496 $85 (includes core charge)
Left Brake hose: Centric 15063102 $23 (Mopar part 68248467AA is back order & has ridiculous $180 shipping charge!)
Shipping: $60

Edit 5/26/18: Left brake hose under alternate part number 68232484AA does not have the crazy shipping price and fits perfectly..the Centric hose show above is "El Cheapo" by comparison.

MoparPartsGiant.com:

Right brake hose: Mopar 68257661AA $50
Right brake shield: Mopar 68217406AA $10
Left Brake Shield: Mopar 68217407AA $ 8
Banjo Bolts: Mopar 6508379AA (2) $ 3
Shipping: $19

I will post up more pics when I install them, but for now a teaser:

The BR9 hoses are actually shorter as the caliper is much larger and so extends up higher and the hose attaches in the center, not the bottom. It is the attachment ends that are different- they hug the caliper up past the bleeder valve. If you try to use the hoses from the BR3/BR5 they would stick out at a weird angle and likely hit the suspension.

Police officer who lives a couple houses down the street said I will love them once I get used to them: "the first couple times you hit them you'll feel like your eyes are going to pop out of their sockets".

I think this is a great (and inexpensive) way to upgrade your brakes on a street car without having to change out a lot of suspension parts. Have you seen the price of a brembo conversion? ($3,000).

Nice!

I had been thinking about upgrading my early 2014 Pursuit fronts to BR9, but I'm just gonna wait a year or two and upgrade to a newer model Pursuit so I can get the nicer instrument cluster, too.

Great post Krautmaster, you are definitely the big brake guru! <img src="http://www.chargerforums.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Big Grin" class="inlineimg" />

So all the standard 20 inch OEM Charger and Challenger wheels will clear these BR9 brakes?

Anything 18" or bigger will clear them. 18" is the factory size on the Pursuits

These won’t fit my 13. Fml

Kraustmaster I PMd ya.

These should fit any non Brembo equipped car from 2011 to 2018. Once I get them installed I'll try one of my 18" Aluminum rims to see if they clear..the Steelies have a lot of "steps" on the inside of the rim that the aluminum ones don't so they might be too tight, but these brakes will definitely work with all the 20" wheels.

***UPDATE 7/08/18*** These will fit the early spindles if you enlarge the holes where the caliper carriers attach from the 12mm they are to 14mm (9/16" dill works perfectly)

Hmmm what if you just but the BR9 caliper brackets and add em on the BR5 Calipers?

Won't work.. the BR9 calipers are about 1" wider/deeper. The BR5 caliper is only wide enough to hold one pad!

Also, it looks like they will not fit the 2011 through mid 2012 models as the front wheel bearings are different. The 2011 looks like the bearing fits over a spindle cast into the Knuckle and is held on with a big nut (like the 06-10 models). Sometime in 2012 they switched to a sealed bearing/hub that bolts to the knuckle, so the knuckles are different (see bearing pics)

I have that newer spindles in the second pic. So if we have the same
Spindles it should fit eh?

I had same ones on my 2013 and everything looks like it would have fit that model, but they may have changed the knuckle slightly in mid 2014 when they came out with this upgrade. I would contact Steve White Motors, their parts guys can look up your VIN and tell you if the kit they sell will fit ($800 is a lot to spend on something you are not 100% sure of). They need to look up the steering knuckle part numbers...

I’ve compared knuckle part #s and seems to fit but The only reason I haven’t asked Steve white bc they told the scar pack wheels wouldn’t fit my car and they do. I feel they’ll say the same about the brake package bc it’s for 14 and up and I have a 13.

Hmmm would advance auto or pep boys sells em? I mean I do have a friend who works at Dodge and maybe he can get a discount

No OReilly in NJ. Didn’t even think of Napa lol

I saw that earlier. I got the rear one for free. My buddy is a boro mechanic and they didn’t use them for some reason so I got a police caliper bracket for like $50 bucks from someone on here!

The Police here use those Raybestos wiggle slotted rotors as replacements when the originals wear out. I've seen them on Rock auto listed as raybestos and as AC Delco...the Rock catalogue is weird though..some are listed under 2015 but not 2016, some under rotors only, others under rotor& pad...anyway you have to check just about every option in their menu to find what you want.
My Power Stop AR83092XPR drilled/slotted rotors only show up under 2015- charger-5.7- brake & wheel hub-rotor-performance (same menu you find the $69 Raybestos wiggle rotors)

I like em. They look cool too lol

Have we confirmed for sure the 2011 Pursuits can not get the BR9 package installed via brackets but will need the whole knuckle as well. I understand the hub is different but is the bolting for the brackets different.

No clue. Do the route I’m doing. Go to Napa and buy the caliper and see if it bolts up and if so cool. If not return it.

Steve White confirmed the BR9 kit will fit my 13 Daytona. Sweet! Still gonna get one caliper and rotor first to confirm before buying it.
