I have a 06 Dodge Charger rt (5.7 hami) and I’m looking to get into 700s crank horsepower, I’m thinking I’m gonna need to change the block plus forged internals but I’m not a pro at this stuff I have never turbocharged a car before but I have replaced another engine before plus my dad has a lot of experience replacing engine parts but he doesn’t know anything about turbos either so, is it a good option to change the block and get forged internals and put a twin turbo set up? The stock puts out around 350 hp so I only need to double it and I’m thinking I’ll need twin turbo each producing 15-20 psi is that possible or no, thanks

Hami lol.....it is hemi, short for hemispherical. 5.7 block is capable of it, in fact with ALOT of expensive work it's capable of it naturally aspirated: BES 417ci Gen III Hemi - Popular Hot Rodding Magazine
What is your goal here? Is this a track car? Toy? Daily driver? What other work has been done to the car? Can't just put a monster engine in without other serious upgrades to the rest of the vehicle.

Im looking for a track car plus somewhat drivable on the road on weekends and yeah I figure I might as well replace the drivetrain to be able to handle it as long as it's read in around 6 months and costs no more then 45k ish I'm good

Also what I'm wondering is where do I get all the parts because several places I have looked are out of stock on tubo kits

I wont say no, but I doubt it's possible in your case. I see passion but in this case I do not see you successfully achieving the goal a professional racer and builder with an expert team made.

In his defense I've heard people call them a "Hami" quite often.

Curious - what is your budget for this project, King?

Edit- 45k CAD...hmm hard to say
Why not go in for a newer vehicle and save yourself the time and heartache?
I could do that but I kinda wanna see what I can build and I really like the 06 drag look, plus if I get a newer one and it blows up then we'll way more costly, but your talking about getting a hellcat well that's a good option Wich if this doesn't work out I might do but I just love the idea of having it as a project with 2 turbos pushing 40 psi I doubt it's mush easier getting that in a newer car since there's alot more electronic but let's say I got a 6.4 charger or challenger Wich are around 50 if I'm not wrong how hard would it be to put twin turbos into it with 40 psi, I'm not to concerned about HP or torque as long as it's in the 700 range and it's twin turbo with about 40 psi of boost what's my best option?

Why are you so concerned that it makes 40 PSI with TT ?

I just want big twin turbo because first of I like the sound and the more psi it makes the better the sound is plus I think it will look nice for my charger, I'm not trying to make a ton of power or anything if I wanted to do that I'd either use the viper engine or 6.4, guess you guys don't come from Canada so it's not mush use but I'm trying to find out what exactly I need to do and where to get the parts Im gonna need or just find out if it even possible

Plus the car has bout 350 Hp stock each psi should give me around 7% increase in hp (what I heard) car has 350 so 7% of 350 is about 24.5 HP so 40 times 24.5 lands me in 980 and I doubt that's how mush the actual number would be but let's say it's 900 minus whatver less it is at the wheel let's say 800 and I tune it for 700 I have 700hp Wich is not maxing it out Wich would make it reliable

It's possible, but there's a few problems...

First off, 2 turbos making 20psi each, blowing into the same system (I/C or plenum) only makes 20psi.

Secondly, considering guys are making 1000+hp at or below 20psi, a goal of 40 is complete overkill.

Someone asked about your goals. Do you have a particular HP number you're trying to hit, and particular time you're trying to achieve at the strip?

This is going to sting a bit but you are a poser..you don't have the automotive knowledge to build, maintain or drive a car that you propose building. it's clear from your posts.. go learn something before you take such a big bite..you can thank me later. yes, I'm an ahole because I speak the truth..

Yeah, we seem to be inundated with n00bs lately. In short, anything is possible. These engines can make big power, but not without quite a bit of expense (less so if you can do some or all the work yourself). For most of the single digit posters who come here and think they can roll their own hellcat on a Corolla budget, it's going to be cheaper and far less frustrating/humiliating to buy a used Hellcat. Just calling 'em like I see 'em.

Best,
