To all who have purchased a Charger, I wish to say thank you. You are the Official Guinea Pigs; or better known as the OGPs After hearing all the first year production problems posted here, I hope that when I get mine in’07, they have it together.

With that in mind, you would have thought that after the Magnum and 300, that DCX would have most if not all bugs worked out.

Now don’t get me wrong, I have not been bitten by the bug this bad, I am a patient person and will settle for nothing less than when I have set my eyes on, a SRT. That said; I will wait until after the first year production models. I feel for you guys who have achieved your desires only to have issues. Sounds like a marriage huh .

Anyway, back to lurk mode…..

Sounds good in theory, but you'll never get a new car thinking that way. By the time you wait till 07' somthing else will be out that your into, then you'll have to wait for that second year production, then you'll be in the same position you where in in the beginning :grin:

No problems here, my car seems to be just fine.

"all the first year production problems" As far as I know there were a few paint issues with the black cars, but nothing I would say is a "first year production problem" - I've had some issues here and there, but I dont care This is by far the best car Ive ever owned.

Waiting for "bugs" to be worked out is no guarantee you won't have a problem regardless how many years a model has been out. Three years and 36k mile warrany= buy it and enjoy life. This isn't the 70's with 12/24k. nuff said. Regards to ALL!! Mike

I agree with all of you - "What first year production problems ?"

- I haven't had anything problems that would be considered first year production problems. Considering that some of the car is made out of Mercedes parts that have been around for years and that the 300 and the magnum (same parts) have been out for (what) 2 years - I wouldn't think of this car as a "First model Year" - except for the body panels. Well, maybe the tire valve stems are a "first year" item :happy: .

- I can't understand why people believe that "First Model Year" stuff - and think that they won't have problems with a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc model year car.

I don't see the charger having any specific faults over the other LX vehicles. Sure there are slight differences but not much major.

The only real problems Ive seen on this forum are more the way of "lemons" than anything else. Paint problems, roof lining problems, pieces falling off....all that is just some guy at the factory worried about going on a strike and getting sloppy. It happens with every make and model ever put out, 1/1000 has a problem that is usually fixed quite easily.

Of course, there are a couple of design ommisions that will be fixed, if your willing to wait a year for a iPod jack, well, have fun with that.

hell my Acura CL Type-S had a 2 - transmission recalls... they replaced it under warranty at 49K miles and extended the warranty to 100k

No problems since the replacement...43k miles later...

Well Camero, your half correct about me getting an SRT-8. First I promised the wife I would hold off; the 1 marshmellow now vs 2 marshmellows later theory.

She advised that I could get a Charger now, but not the one I wanted or wait to '07 and get the one I wanted. You take a wild guess which decision I picked.

Second, I started working for a new Department that had an 18 month probationary period. In my line of work, they can drop with without cause while your in probation. I have until Jun 20, 06 and I am a free man.

Third, I am looking at a 15%-20% pay increase when I become a level 2 LEO at the end of the probationary period.

So I guess you wild explorers will be the test pilots for the Charger.

Reread my post. You may have been lucky to have a problem free car, but others have not. Personally I don't want to go through the aggravations that some have. The reason why is that I don't trust dealers after they have gotten your money. Nor do I want to go through the aggravation of getting it fixed. I would have hoped that with the Mag and 300 leading the way, the Charger would be problem free.

There is no hate involved, I didn’t wait too long and missed out. I am not buying this year, my choice. No shooting other person planes down. Yes, I have the money. Don't take all posts personally.

The only person I see here getting personal is you with your post. Back to lurk mode.

Hmmmmmmm.....don't trust DCX to build the car "right" in its first year....don't trust dealers after they get your money............. Interesting opinions.

Well here's my $.02 from one fat, happy guinea pig. I have owned my SXT since May 28 and have driven it over 10,000 miles. No loose parts, no rattles, no shimmies, no shakes, no problems, no issues....NADA! I love this car and have no problem telling everyone that asks exactly what I think of my car. Peformance is super, gas mileage (which was the overriding consideration in choosing the V6 over the HEMI) is great, ride is awesome, sound system rocks, every day is like Christmas :santa:
