What will the Police Chargers be running?

I have heard of two different types: a turbocharged Hemi and a Viper V-10!!!!!

Heard this from a sheriff that ordered them, but he may have been mistaken.

Guy should be arrested for smoking the good stuff........cause I only remember there being 3.5L and 5.7L being available. Unless there is some special cop that comes with a 6.1L or turbo 5.7L I would be highly surprised to see those in one.

Your Sheriff is an idiot. The only option is a 3.5 or 5.7. Even the 5.7 is too much engine for many cops. I bet most get the 3.5.

Well, actually, my sheriff is also my uncle! But he's not the idiot, the idiot is the salesman that told him this crap. He ordered a lot of them so he will discover soon enough that the salesman is either a moron or a complete liar or both. When they come in I'll get some photos.

But let me get this straight. The Police Chargers won't be any faster than the street version???

I bet they will only in that the upper limit on the computer will be higher. As far as side by side to the limiter, they should be the same...

NO V-10!!


The police version will be package 29A.

5.7 HEMI.

Will have alot of different options as thery need to be set up for police work.

It will have a NZ5 part code---high speed engine controller.

He told me to begin with that it wouldn't have the regulator chip (pretty much the same thing you are saying^^), but yesterday he told me what the salesman said. I thought it was too crazy.

says the Police package can turn off the ESP completely.

They will come with 3-mode ESP, but so do the SRT-8s.

Do a search on this dealer web page in the inventory section. They have a police package for sale. 6 cyl. $36,000+ sounds a bit much for a V6. I may have to go check it out next time I get up around there.
