I wish you good luck...
Inertia cams was the only one who made cams for the 3.5, and they are now non-existant since the engine has been out of production going on 10 years.
Their website stiill shows them as availalble if you have weeks/months to wait. My advice is to save your $$ for a newer model with the vastly superior 3.6 with 8 speed, or just go straight to an RT with the 5.7...spending money on upgrading the 3.5 is not worth it:

We're proud to be the first (and still only!) aftermarket performance company to release camshaft options for the 3.5L HO V6 Chrysler motors and we have had great success with these over the years. Pricing is $375 for these cams. There is a $200 core charge that will be refunded once your stock cams are sent to us.
IMPORTANT Due to poor camshaft availability (engine now out of production), we can ONLY do these if you source a set of cams and them them to us to be ground. Otherwise wait times will be months, not weeks, unfortunately.

I want a fuel efficient model

And uts way too much for the 3.6. theyre charging like 13k for the car alone. And most of them need new shocks and new brakes minimum.
After the minimum fixing up its easily 15k for a 2014 with 100k+ miles on it. Its not worth thqt much. Especially since I can spend half of that to just add upgrades to the 3.5..

I can literally buy a brand new transmission and camshaft and have them installed for less money than it would costt

To those inertia cams work? Are there reviews?

Camshafts, as in two. 3.5 is a SOHC. Like kraut said, there literally is nothing much anymore for the 3.5; it's been out of production for 10yrs and was never really a hot rodder's choice. You say you want a "fuel efficient model", yet you wanna modify a 250hp V6 in a 4100lb boat lol. In 2010 the 3.5 was EPA rated 17/25 for fuel economy. The 3.6 in the 2011 was rated 18/27 and that's with the 5sp; a 2015 3.6 with the 8sp? 19/30. Between the newer design, VVT, DOHC, the old 3.5 (that dates back to the 90's) won't ever match it for power or economy.

MP:
You are asking for more grunt, and better efficiency at the same time. On an older platform like the 3.5, those things are opposites. You could drop a shorter gear into the rear end, which will get you bottom end acceleration, but your highway mpg will drop a bit in return. You don't mention the year or mileage of your Charger. Depending on it's age and condition, putting much money into it may not be a good investment.
The 3.6 is more efficient, AND has 45-50 more HP. If you could get one new enough to have the 8 speed, that would be another bonus!

If you are dead set on modifying the 3.5 your best option is to acquire a 4.0l out of a 07-08 Chrysler minivan. The 4.0 is just a 3.5 with a longer stroke resulting in more low end toque. It will drop right in with no modifications. These engines usually go for about $700 which is cheap compared to a used 3.5 ($2000).
Additionally the rear gear is a 2.88. A used 3.64 or 3.92 can be found on eBay for around $100. This will really up the acceleration and torque feeling. I did this on my 07 3.5 and the acceleration felt better than on my 06 r/t. It is by no means a faster car, but this is how the v6 should have came stock in my opinion.

Those inertia cams are most certainly going to RAISE the torque curve
Would a Transverse mount engine fit? Often the block casting is altered for those

The 4.0l from the crystler Pacifica is a 3.5l with a longer stroke. The block and bolt pattern is exactly the same. The lower and upper intake manifold, valve covers and oil pan/oil pick up tube all need to be swapped over, otherwise the bolt pattern on the block is the same. It will bolt right up to the nag1. The inertia cams will actually work in the 4.0l as the heads are the same. It might be a great combination for torque and horsepower if tuned correctly. Especially with a 3.92 gear in the rear

Im looking for a cam that will lower the torque curve. I want more low end torwue
Very late, but answers on this form are just misleading. If you are looking for a Chrysler motor to push, the 3.5l is the one to do. It is the only Chrysler motor in the last 20 years that have a fully forged top end. HEMIS can't say that... These motors can handle 12psi boost right out of the box. Inertia makes cams for this motor and have dyno tests proving 25whp gains, and an extra 8hp with the ported throttle body. They also make a 4.0l stroker kit. Pair these with longtubes, and performance heads and you are looking at 400+ horsepower from previous builds. But you will be looking at $5,000 dollars to get to this range. (Not to mention the supercharged versions make 550whp+ LOL)

Not to mention the 3.6l is way less modder friendly - integrated cams and headers, locked ecu. You can only slap a 8k supercharger on it from RIPP. Don't let anyone tell you not to push this 3.5l. The only difference vs v8 is the price; the 3.5l is cheaper to have worked on. You can always push HEMI power out of this engine, because it is a HEMI! Yes, hemispherical cylinders is the only thing that makes it a HEMI... The RT's weight 4100 and 3.5l weighs 3700, so there's a bit of weight advantage there... Same tranny too! Unless it's 4 spd... Sigh...

Know, super funny cool story. I have some Pre-Production 1G 3.5 Cams in boxes with Carrol Shelbys Business address on them.
