I'm getting a bit worried as the Chrylser 300C SRT-8 is now $42K, and most dealers are selling it for $45K.

I hope Dodge doesn't price the Charger SRT-8 that high, $40K for a car is alot and gives you many more options to chose from.

I'm hoping it will be below $35K and even with that, I'd have to consider a new Mustang GT for $26K or a GTO (slightly used) for $24K.

Dodge has been very smart with pricing of their new vehicles and I hope they keep it going with the Charger and SRT-8.

Yeah, here's hoping. To their credit, if they can sell them out at $40K, GJ Dodge, more power to you, and that just means the new Charger will be here to stay. But at that price point (with gas guzler tax no doubt, the SRT-8 300C has a $2,100 gg tax) a lot of Dodge fans won't be able to afford it or would look at something else.

If your budget is $40K for a car, you're now in the relm of BMW's, Audis, Mercedes, etc.

I guess you're right. I just went to the Chrysler website and went to build and price and its base price is $42,145. I should write Motor Trend and check that out, maybe find out why it's more expensive than they said it was.

Again as I mentioned above, I think the $2,100 gas guzzler tax that is in there explains the difference. This means the SRT-8 charger will have a similar tax which sucks for us.

We just got our first 300 SRT8, the sticker is a bit over 45K, but it sold for over 49K!! I hope the Charger will be at least 5K less, but after driving the 300 for a bit, they are really worth every penny!! The power is awesome, but I will say the exhaust note is a bit too tame for a performance car. This thing will really chew up the road, even with the ESP on, it wanted to haze the tires from a standing start! After I turned it off, I really had to try NOT to break the rear end loose, even while rolling at 30 MPH or so. I have driven all the SRT models, and this one does deserve the badge.
