AEM Brute Force Intake W/Pics (08 R/T)

Here are the pictures of the AEM Brute Force Air Intake.

The sensor on the factory intake was to tight for me to safely pull out, every agle I tried I felt I was going to snap the tip off, so I took a knife an put 2 slits in the rubber to free it out. Being in Germany I didn't want to be stuck with out a ride waiting for a part to come from the states.

The kit comes with a short rubber hose, and a male 2 hose connector. The factory hose coming off the engine is way big to connect to the male connector. To fix this after I Installed everything I went and picked up another hose clamp to secure the hose.

After reconnecting the negative battery terminal, I had no auto-up on my windows. So common sense told me to whip out the manual, yep power your windows down and hold the button for 3 seconds then power them up and hold for 3 seconds then walla there reset to work normal.

WOT sounds awesome, the engine in my opinion seems to scream a little more free'r. Did a Brake-Burn Take off combo, my observation is there is a tad bit more power going to the rear wheels. The Brake stand was much more smoother.

Install time was 30 minutes this is subtracting 5 or 10 minutes debating how to get the sensor off the factory intake. Be sure you slide the Red Tab back before pulling the wire harness off.

(Sorry for the rainy day cellphone pics)

looks great... thanx for posting the pics:beerchug:
Sometime in the near future the hose will be swapped out for a better looking one piece set-up. In the 6 years I've spent stationed in Germany I haven't seen any Auto parts stores. It sux.

you could just buy some 15/32 pcv crankcase vent hose and use that...
I will, but everything I want, I need to order online, unless the store on post has some.

let me know... i could always get you some and mail it to you...:beerchug: it's like $4 dollars... not sure how much shipping would be
Thanks, I just had an idea though, I want to see if there are some good colored hoses out there.

i've seen some online...from red to blue
I'm looking for a site now.
aem is also working on a new intake, a real cold air that goes through the the hole in the chasis
I may modify this by running a pipe from the chassis up to the filter.

I'm not to concerned, I don't ever hit the track. Plus this isn't the best set up for racing, the aluminum will heat up and in turn heat the air up.

What would be best is insulated tubing/piping straight from the intake to the hole in the the chassis with a custom filter built in. And also making sure where ever that chasis hole leads to is ported from the outside for maximum airflow intake.

I've been pondering how I can get the A/C system cold air ported to the Intake....lol

Also, They got those vacuum cleaner things with hepa filters, I'm wondering if I can get some forced air out of a vacuum cleaner motor.

Another possibility is getting a bent pipe and running it through the hood with a small cowl on top for a short ram air intake ..lol

What would be even more awesome is modifying the radiator, so you can ram air straight through the honeycomb grill into the intake port, now that would be hot!

rut roh... will this be intake #8... you're catching up to me:bigthumb:
I saw those setups then I thought to myself all that stuff looks like the stock set up. So on a stock set up swap the filter out and then I don't see how it's much different than the after market stuff.

You can only get so much air in there with a filter in place. Cold air? what if its 90 plus degrees outside. yeah it will be cooler than the engine compartment.

I think all that rubber will heat up as well heating the air. I think the only solution is a ram air hood. Short distance forced air from the outside. But hows the water keep out? and the way the hood is set up there is to much deflection eliminating the whole ram air theory.

Hmm so many things to ponder, I say take it all off and put a 5 in pipe off the intake for the O2 sensor and wrap it with a filter type cloth.
