When it comes to making modifications to your car, you will find that almost
anything is possible; however, your options are limited to how much effort and (more importantly) cash you are willing to put into the project.
However, this seems like a relatively simple mod. The charger is a pretty cool car. You can pretty much take any non-performance mod from the upper-tier models like the r/t or SRT and put them on the lower models, like the SXT and SE. Parts fit pretty universally, so things like SRT seats or R/T sun visors with lights, for example will almost always fit in the the lower models. (others can correct me if I'm wrong, but this is my understanding)
This is all just a guess, but this is my idea of what it will involve. First of all, you'll need to purchase new visors, ones with the lights in them that come that way from the factory. You could either buy Chrysler 300 visors, or Dodge magnum visors, or dodge charger visors - it's my understanding that they're all identical. (Again, somebody feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) So the first step is to find ones with lights off of either ebay or from the dealer, or from a junkyard if there's one nearby you. Now you're going to need to do a little research. You need to find whether or not the wires for the lit visors are already there behind the visors and just not hooked up, or if there are no wires at all. But before you do that, you're going to need to access where your visors go, and where the wires would be if they existed. And I have no idea whatsoever what that involves, but I'm betting it involves peeling back your headliner and taking a look inside to get a look at what's there.
If there are no wires at all, then you're going to need to remove your A-pillar trim. That's the piece of plastic in between the windshield and the door that covers up the metal that supports the roof of the car. Underneath that piece of plastic is a bundle of wires called a wire harness. Those wires contain two circuits that control your dome lights, and I'm guessing would control your visor lights as well. If you do go this route, feel free to PM me for further help, because it's a tad bit complicated. You'd need to splice into one a specific one of those circuits and then connect the power supply to your visors.
If there are indeed wires for the visor lights, then all you have to do is remove your current visors and install the new ones and hook 'em up! Which would be nice!
Or, if you have the $$$$ you could pay a professional to install them and not worry about it at all, but then again that just costs more money and can add up to more than a lot of people would want to pay for a mod so small, myself included. But yes, I believe that installing lit visors is indeed possible! And doing it yourself is a great way to bond with your car! hahaha
