I just picked up a '12 R/T a couple weeks ago from a dealership and it just hit it's 67,000 mile mark. Yes, I know how to read a manual and Google search, but I figured I'd ask you guys for any additional pointers. This is my first HEMI and first V8 that had any amount of get-up-and-go and I'm impressed with it, but I want to keep it this way or even help improve it maintenance-wise before I start the subtle performance modifications I'm planning.

Where should I start (and are there any tips) as I'm not sure what all has been done as far as maintenance goes... Anything that's going to be replaced under maintenance will be upgraded (where and if possible) so suggestions on those would be welcome as well.

  • Spark plugs?
  • Conversion to Mobil 1 at next oil change, for sure.

Planned future mods:

  • Air Intake
  • Possible muffler upgrade for a beefier tone
Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forums and to the Hemi.....it is impressive!!

On the spark plug change, it would be fine to go ahead and use NGK P/N LZFR5C–11. These are for the Eagle hemi 2009 and up.

However, on the Mobil 1, it would be much better to give us a call and get a better alternative on the lubricants with a QuantumBlue Custom Blend.

7.5w23 HP Competition Formula 5.7L VVT MDS Hemi Custom Blend with a QuantumBlue Ultra HP White Oil Filter. $102.08 for 8 quarts and the filter.

Good for 12k to 18k miles. Much more durable than the Mobil 1 which is a price oil. Of the $7.50 you would pay for their oil, $5.61 of that is warehousing, transportation and profit. Mobil 1 is only good for about 5k miles anyway. We design and manufacture the lubricant based on what you have, how you drive it, where you live, more city or more highway and what mods you have or will have. All taken into consideration before it is put together.....not something off the shelf can ever do for you!

Jed's OCD has gone 167,004 miles on 13 oil change averaging 12,847 miles per oil change:

Just thought you should know about the alternative. By the way, we have a 99% reorder rate on the ACES IV in the gasoline and a 98.2% on everything else we make.:bigthumb:
