Called the dealer today and priced out parts for my cam swap:
-Camshaft
-Valve Springs
-Pushrods
-Valve Retainers
-Valve Stem Seals
-Lifters
-Cam and Crank Bolt
Anything I missed that I will need for the swap???
If you don't have the miller tool for the valve springs Head gaskets and bolts......cause it's nearly impossible to do the valvesprings on the car with a conventional compressor.
Swapping cams is no problem without pulling the heads. Doing valvesprings is another issue altogether. The intakes are easy to do with the small hand held compressor combined with a hose clamp to keep the jaws locked onto the spring.
For the exhaust I actually had to fabricate a special lever (using a flat pry bar) that mounts on the rocker arm shaft bolt holes via a stud....allowing you to push the springs down...while you fish out the keepers....lots of fun there. The entire job took me 2 days worth of blood sweat and tears (esp when I thought I dropped a keeper into the motor). Not recommended for the weak of heart.
