For similar damage I used
I cleaned the surface, but did not sand or do anything else to prep the wheel. I just wanted something that covered it enough that it wouldn’t scream at me every time I walked by the car, until I could take it in to get it repaired. It came out better than I expected and the color match was really close.
That being said a few weeks later I took it to a wheel repair center and was really impressed with with the repair job they did. The rim looked new. In my area the price to get a wheel done depends on the damage and out of the highly rated places it seemed that $150 was the minimum repair charge.
