So I recently got my first Dodge brand car at the end of FEB this year. A brand new, custom ordered, 2017 Charger Daytona 392. Although I love the car from a drivers perspective the electronics have issues with bluetooth. I've owned many cars equipped with bluetooth and none have ever given me a single issue. Once the phone was paired it remained connected forever. With this brand new car I have issues with bluetooth dropping almost daily which is very annoying. Sometimes it'll happen while driving and other times it simply won't connect when I start the car. Each time this happens I have to reset the radio which I learned how to do from a UCONNECT rep. My dealer isn't aware of any such update coming to fix this and that's unacceptable on a car costing over 50K. I'm hoping hoping there is a firmware update coming soon...would like to get this unit running consistently.

Anyone else having similar issues?

Nothing like a brand new car with problems right out of the gate. :frown2:

There is a FCA Star Case open for this issue with a pending software update. I posted a picture of the sheet the tech pulled for me. It looks like you quoted me on it actually.

http://www.chargerforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=4269210&highlight=#post4269210

Unfortunately as of yesterday the software update has not been released yet. I talked to DodgeCares on this forum who called me with the update (or lack there-of) including a concern I had with a hood alignment issue. If you PM them they should get in contact with you so you can be apprised of further updates. Or if you give your dealer the case number I posted, they should be able to track the progress as well. I'm surprised that they haven't heard of the issue however. Maybe you talked to someone new or less experienced?

Anyway, I along with many others, are in the same boat as you are with this UConnect issue and several others ones you may have not noticed yet.

Just trying to raise awareness...thanks. Quite concerning that we're still having to deal with this with no updates at all from Uconnect or Dodge.

Although the Uconnect Website shows the following Update: (which is supposed to resolve this issue based on the TSB)

Update 1: UCONNECT_VP4R_CR16.8_MY17_LALDLX_USA
View Details
Service Bulletin ID: TSB 08-007-17-REV-B
Release Date: 2017-04-21

I was told today that instead of normally updating yourself, there was a problem and this had to be done at the dealership. I am going to schedule the update soon and hope it does in fact resolve the issue.

Hi Sw0rdf1sh,

I would recommend holding off on scheduling your dealership appointment, both dealerships and customers are having issues downloading the update at this time. I am still waiting to hear from our Uconnect team with an update and will post any information I receive on this thread.

Yep... I'm in the same boat. Had issues getting my phone to initially connect when I picked up my new Charger and have had several of those issues at varying times. I've gone online and there us no Uconnect update for my car. So, I guess I sit back and wait like everyone else until Dodge gets the issue fixed.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your patience. I've received confirmation from Uconnect that dealerships are now able to access/download the software update through their system; however, the https://www.driveuconnect.com/software-update/ link is still inoperable for customers to download and install the software themselves. Once I receive another update I will be sure to update this thread!

The update can now be downloaded from the Uconnect website. I updated my 17 Daytona over the weekend. So far I'm not seeing many changes, although bluetooth hasn't disconnected so that is good.

Saw that we're on REV D now. Does anyone know what, if anything, has been changed? I downloaded REV C but didn't do the update yet.

Thanks

I'm sure that the change log will be very detailed. Something along the lines of "bug fixes and performance improvements"...

One thing that I noticed since the update, when I first start the car on the screen where you have the option to turn on heated/vented seats, in the lower middle of the screen it says Drive Modes: Custom, Track, Sport. I was hoping that they unlocked track mode, but pressing on the button doesn't do anything.

Hi ATD1,

Our engineers have to change the revision letter anytime they make a change to any part of the TSB. The software update has remained the same since REV A but additional information has been added to the TSB to assist dealerships in performing the update.

I still haven't done the update yet as I've been reading that 2017s have been having issues with the update and that their losing a ton of functionality. Is there any truth to this or anything you might be aware of that I should hold off doing the update?

thanks

Hi ATD1,

We have assisted a few customer who were experiencing concerns after they performed the update; however, the majority of customers we've interacted with haven't had a concern after downloading/installing the update. If you are worried about any potential concerns you can always visit your local dealership and have them perform the update on your vehicle for you!

How do I go about installing this update? I never have been able to get my Sprint Iphone 7+ to sync with Uconnect, although, when I first got my 2017 Charger, I had a Sprint Iphone 6, it synced fine.

Hi MGB59,

You can go to http://www.driveuconnect.com/software-update/ to check for the available Uconnect updates, and then instructions will be available on the site for you. Your Dodge dealership can also perform the update if you are in for service, or have any trouble downloading it on your end.

When I enter my VIN on that page, nothing happens. I've tried a couple different browsers. It just hangs.

Best,

Edit: Now it's working. Weird. It says there's an update as of August 09.
