So after dumping my 2015 Chrysler 200 S V6 I wondered how big a hit I would take in moving to the Charger MPG wise.... The 200 would hang right around 34mpg at 74 mph... Right now with just 600 miles on my Charger I am getting 33 at 72.. where I had the cruise set.... Granted at some point I need to do the actual gas used and the math etc.... But right now with probably a still tight engine I am happy in this respect in that the trade off in MPG with the V6 version of both cars is very slight. Granted the 9 speed in the 200 lets you cruise at 85 all day long but in Florida that will buy you a day with Smokey... So that's cool where you can get away with it...90% of my driving is in town so the 200's 9 speed was driving me batty... The 8 speed in the 2015 Charger is a totally different cat..... much better drivability and seemingly well matched to the engine...


Please only respond only if you have a 2015 SE or SXT with the V6 and 8 speed auto... for the sake of this thread can we stick to this model line up so it does not get clouded with older model MPG experience... so 2015 V6 owners.. what MPG are you getting esp with more miles than I have.. :clap:

I put 3k on a longterm 2015 SXT rental, while Forester was in the shop. Highway trips, I averaged 33.7, city/hwy combined was 28.92. I'm now considering purchasing one. Nicest car I've ever driven.

Remembering I have the 6... This morning I hit the interstate and set the cruise at 65.. nice and flat...... after 14 miles it was right at 38.5 mpg and may have been a little higher accept for the five overpasses I had to climb... the a/c was off... and hour later when I got back into the car it had gotten 10 degrees hotter and I had to use the a/c.. same stretch back same speed down to 34 mpg... If I go across the state which I will the max speed all the way is 60 on all the state roads.. I figure if I actually go 60 I will get 40 mpg.... no hills to worry about.... there are some four bangers out there not getting that... just an update.... I am sure the 8 speed in the 15 is making the difference....

I have the 5 speed NAG1 in my SE, I took my wife out for a ride last Sunday From ABQ up through the Jemez Mountains to Los Alamos. We got entangled with a huge group of ricers, about 300 Hondas/Toyotas with huge fart can mufflers stopping to take pictures of each other all along the way and really plugging up the traffic.

We managed about 45 mph for an hour until I could finally get clear of all of them. My EVIC was showing 42.5 MPG

Well the planting of my foot really seems to be the governor of the MPG..... Which is why I keep the big MPG display in the center display.. I figure it keeps me from doing too much heavy throttling... which in turn is probably better on the car's wear and tear wise... MPG staying in the mid thirties on the highway... I am happy with that...
