Hi All

While I love this car, every time I drive it I get frustrated how it shifts. In Sport Mode if I'm driving with a Medium Heavy foot, it seems to perform very well. But just driving conservatively, it feels clunky.

When leaving a complete stop, or at a slow roll, sometimes it feels like a mild neutral drop - a sort of clunk feeling. Its like there was massive play in the drive shaft.

Its also very hard to reproduce. I can go for a 30 minute drive and it will surely do a few things that piss me off - but to be able to reproduce the symptoms is difficult. So if I take it to the dealer, I'm pretty sure I would just waste a bunch of time to eventually hear "we didn't notice any issues"

Maybe I'll just wait for a tranny software update and see if the dealer will simply apply it without wasting a bunch of time burning my gas.

Anyone else unhappy with their 8 Spd?

It took me a little while to get used to it. Slow start in traffic and it's in 3rd gear before you know it. Haven't noticed it being clunky at all, just really quick shifts through the first three or four. Heavy foot or sport mode obviously changes things, and track mode changes it big time.

I have the same symptoms as you have described. When the vehicle is cold (maybe only running for a few minutes) and I go to take off slowly through a parking lot or even accelerate very slowly, first gear does lunge and then shift aggressively. Subsequent shifts are always smooth after the very first 1st to 2nd shift. How I got over this is accelerating more quickly and it drives normally. Now when mine has been driven for a while, third gear is a little firm. Ive gotten used to its quirks.

I am just going to wait for the next software update which im certain is coming eventually.

The transmission is in learn mode the first few hundred miles and will feel clunky during that period. If you have more than the 500 break-in miles and still having issues then bring back to dealer for checkout/possible software upgrade.

2015 Charger SXT

2015 Charger SXT. Wife's car went in for first oil change (3k miles) and for the radio TSB and 1 other. When we got the car back from the dealership, now when the car is cold, the car will shift sporatic from 3-4. This is not a slamming of gears, but a longer transition period from 3-4 shift, when it does shift to 4th, it sort of lunges the car forward. Spoke to dealership, they said nothing with the TSB updates should of had anything to do with the shifting. My question is, why now? and why right after it was at the dealership...surely something in the code updates possibly affected the shift points?
