Hello all,

I have a 2008 Dodge Charger and bought a spare key fob on Amazon and decided to program it myself. I used my 2 keys to program the third key as per directions. The third key started working but not it gives me 0513 code. The programed key will turn on the car and drive it but sometimes the buttons wont work. Did i do something wrong. From what i read if you have this code the car should't start but my car starts fine.

Per the service manual, this code can be caused by any of the following:
INCORRECT VIN PROGRAMMED IN THE PCM
NO COMMUNICATION WITH WIN
IGNITION KEY
WIRELESS IGNITION NODE (WIN)
POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM)

If further assistance is needed to diagnose issue, the dealer will have the necessary scan tools to troubleshoot.
