When was the timing belt last changed?
Have you checked the timing?

Had the same thing happen on my 2007. Acted like limp mode but was not that. Researched it and learned it could be timing. Drove normal but would hesitate when accelerating onto highway. I ended up throwing timing belt and when I rebuilt it it was just fine and performs better than ever.

I would pull the cover and check timing. I bet you are off a tooth. If you are even close on miles, replace the belt.
