my 2007 dodge charger 3.5 won't go over 40 MPH and it run in high RPM. It seen like the car won’t go pass first gear and when you press the gas hard only the RPM goes up and still movie at under 40mph. there is no engine code in the dash. it seems like its transmission. I bring the car to a local shop they told me it’s the coils i change all 6, I also change the oxygen sensor but nothing changed, still the same. I need help identifying what could possibly be wrong with the car.

I'd be more curious if the CEL actually functions. It sounds like it's in limp mode.
OP, when you first turn the key on, does the check engine light come on at all?
