My main concern is the secrecy of this program as with the next Viper Coupe. Smallest of program makes it easy to point fingers back to individuals.

I told the person, not to put his/her job on the line. Just not worth the risk (meaning..no pics around the facility) as with the 300 pics that end on the web before the Pebble beach announcement. Waiting on the opporunity to ensure it is out in the open.

I keep hearing rumors that the Viper Coupe will be at VOI.8 in September. Are you hearing the same thing?

I been hearing that rumor also. I was trying the same in finding out if this was true. I wanted to get someone there with a video cam/camera to get some pics.

Talk to Jim at the SRT-4 forum and he said no. Talk to some program engineers and they were saying that it will have to be a larger event since it is about displaying AMERICAN ICON OF RAW POWER and instilling the DODGE IMAGE HERITAGE (?????). Hmm...that is cold for Viper owners if that statement is true. I thought if anything, the viper owners should be the first to view the next coupe vice the public.

However, I was told it will be an auto showing as with the Roadster within 05 year.

I just keep my fingers cross. However, get this. Since ALLPAR has most the insiders, when they release advance info at which auto show the next so-so vehicle will be, there is quick change. This has now happened to four platforms. Quad SRT-10 Ram|Power Wagon (Chicago), Charger, Enforcer (New York). Two of which was shown by the CEO himself. The other two I heard were in NY and were not shown to the public.

Is someone pissed off or what?

Maybe, it is our best interest in not releasing site of showing on any site and hope it will be unveil at a major auto show soon. Or, just do the 24-hour prior as some folks are doing to prevent the cancellation of showing.

The VCA has promised two vehicles to the attendees of VOI.8. Therefore, most people are expecting the coupe since the last GTS was also debuted at a VOI. Personally, I think they'll be seeing the quad cab SRT-10 and possibly the 300C SRT-8 or the ME-412 prototype. Judging by what I've been hearing in the Viper community there are going to be some seriously pissed off people of there is no gen III Viper coupe (GTS) shown. There are alot of possible sales of a new coupe among current VCA members - ignoring this market is a big mistake. DCX needs to realize that people at the VOI.8 don't give a rip about Hemi powered LXs.


Your comment about the leaks on AllPar affecting which vehicles are actually show is interesting. I never thought about it that way, but I guess maybe the execs are trying to take away some cred from the insiders willing to post info by pulling an intro from a show and in effect making the insider wrong in a public forum. Nevertheless, DCX needs to stop jacking around with boxy four door sedans and wagons and build a nice looking LX Hemi 2 door coupe - the 2 door version of the original '99 concept will work for me.

Cool, let me know what you find out. Either way, we should know soon since VOI is just a few weeks away.

I guess things are even tighter around the Viper coupe than they are around the Charger. It's probably easier to keep things quiet about the Viper since there are less people working on it.

I think that drawing above is sweet. I'd buy one, and plan to actually. Just make it a 6.1L Hemi, at least as an option please.

I was kinda under the impression that the grille was going to stick out a little more, but the lights would be sloped back with the hood. I'm going to try to attach a REALLY crude picture I drew. Kinda like your car, but a little less, viperish.

Has anyone here seen the Artist Concept by a Hot Rod artist in the current issue of what Hot Rod thinks the '06 Charger might look like ???
It has a modified '99 Concept look to it with a Shaker hood and high wing ...
It's the issue with Joe Rogan's 'Cuda on the cover, page 26 ...
