Hi All, I`m looking at putting some subs in ride. It`s a 2006 SXT with the 4 speaker + 2 tweet base stereo.

I'm looking at getting all the help I can to plan this build as I'm still very new to car audio and this car.

I`m looking at two options, I`d like to go with the cheaper and easier of the two if possible.

1. Add subs and amp to factory setup, LOC and run a separate wire to the front for sub volume control.
2.Add subs and amp, plus new interiors and head unit/bezel, I`d still run a separate wire to the front for sub volume control.

Questions:
-Does my car have 3" or 3.5" tweets?
-Does my car have 6x9" or 5.25" or 6.5" speakers?
-Does my car have the dreaded CANBUS?
-If not can I just use a LOC?
-If yes should a LOC be used with one rear speaker if using a mono amp?

Any help would be greatly appreciated..........:alfdance:

***UPDATE***

I have discovered I have the 6 speaker Boston Acoustic package with the smaller amp and no sub.

Therefore, no simple LOC installation :(

But I do still need to know,
-Does my car have 3" or 3.5" tweets?

also

-Can I use 5.25" or 6.5" speakers instead of the 6x9"s without modification?
-Should 2-way or 3-way speakers be used in the front or back?
-When replacing the deck/interior speakers, is the small factory interior amp still used? or Does the new head unit/wiring harness power the interiors now by-passing the factory interior amp?
