Searches came up with nothing... 0 ... on 2.7 liter V6's. I am wondering what are some things I can do to kick it up a notch? It's a base no added thrills model. I ditched the stock GY Craptegrity a few days ago (they were very worn at 39k miles) and replaced them with Yokohoma Avid TRZ tires, what a wonderful difference... the mammoth has predictable handling now.

What could be next... I'm thinking spark plugs & CAI? Any inexpensive DIY procedures or parts anyone has tried? I don't need to turn it into a R/T since it is for my wife to drive our son around and to run errands or go on trips to visit family.

IMHO, Its a 2.7 make it look good. I have done very little to my 3.5, and dont have anything else planned. And if you think tires made a diffidence, get some swaybars/lower it.

Welcome to the forum from western Massachusetts :bigthumb:

I also have a 2.7L, and my Charger SE started life as a plain-jane fleet vehicle (actually as a J&J sales reps car in NYC). I toyed with the idea of adding some performance but decided not to pursue it, our engine isn't meant for "go". See this post: http://www.chargerforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=111567

I love the Charger's looks and have turned my attention to making her a comfortable, good looking machine. Here are a few threads showing some of my mods:

If this car is more for your wife, keep it simple & safe and enjoy it for what it is. The Yokohama Avid TRZs are a great start (I have them, too!)!!

You aren't the only 2.7L in the USA, but you may be the only one trying to throw money into it for performance. I'm not trying to be rude, I know the feeling as my first car was a V6 Mustang, but I just made it look good instead of "wasting" money. I say wasting because it won't do a whole lot for the money, but exhaust looks good at least.

You might want to go on lxforums, to the Diablosport vendor section.........theres a few 2.7 guys who made a thread trying to get as much interest from the 2.7 crowd as possible for Diablo to release Predator software for you guys. Its gonna take alot of you, but you never know

To All,
Thanks for the advice so far. No offense taken, but my 4-banger Patriot feels more responsive with more pep! I was thinking there may be some things to improve it's reaction to our input, and help the engine struggle less/last longer and maybe get a few more MPGs...afterall my goal is efficiency/longevity :alfdance:, sill there is always room for some improvement, right?;) It could just be better perimeters programmed into the ECU as suggested through the Predator mod.
