I'm thinking of upgrading to a new charger. I have a 08 charger rt with R&T and I wanted to know if there is a difference with the brakes. I know that mine comes with heavy duty brakes. Is it the same on the newer models?

2011-2014 R/Ts (including R&T) come standard with the following Performance Brake package:

Front
Rotor size and type 13.6 x 1.26 (345 x 28) vented
Caliper size and type 1.65 (42) dual-piston sliding with aluminum housing
Swept area 249 sq. in. (1606 sq. cm)

Rear
Rotor size and type 12.6 x 0.87 (320 x 22) vented
Caliper size and type 1.65 (42) single-piston sliding with aluminum housing
Swept area 264 sq. in. (1703 sq. cm)

The Super Track Pack is available as an option which replaces the OEM brake pads with high performance brake pads.

The Brembo brake package is available on the SRT only.

Thanks for the reply and the numbers. My question now is, would the rotors and pads that I have on my current RT fit on the new RT? I'm not sure what my caliper size is now.

Hmm. Not sure why you would want to replace '14 brake components with stuff that is six years old?
That would be dumb wouldn't it. I wont be replacing new with old. I purchased new pads and rotors and I was trying to see if I could use them later on.

Just find the specs for your '08 R&T and compare it to a '14 R&T. I doubt they've changed much, if at all.

The brakes on the 11+ R&Ts are really nice, very grabby. I've been happy with mine. I want to upgrade to stainless brake lines and better pads soon.

I believe the spindles changed in 2011.

Perhaps...that's something I'm sure is hard to find online. Hopefully someone has seen the possible change with their own eyes.
