06-10 body with low miles or new body with low miles

Right now I have a 2008 se 2.7l. I love my charger, do not get me wrong, it is a great car. That being said, I think I am ready to upgrade to an R/T! So now I am wondering which way to go. I know that I want a 5.7L, but I am not sure if I would be better of looking for a 2010 R/T with low miles, or looking for one of the newer ones. My budget is about 20k or so, depending on how much I can sell my current charger for. Anyways, I am looking for advice and experience. What would you guys and girls do if you were looking? Maybe some of you are looking, what are you looking for? Any opinions are welcome!

P.S. If anyone is looking for an 08 SE please let me know!

Thanks!

2010 you would get the eagle 5.7 which has more power than the 06-08 5.7s, and still keep the body style, or any of the new ones, youd get the new body style thus more being still available for it.
you should be able to find up to an 12 for about 20k, without a trade in if u do some good searching and bargaining

Yeah I would like to be "upgrading" and I'm thinking that I would have to go with a 2010 at the least if not later. And thanks for the tip on the Eagle 5.7 I didn't realize that. So far I've only been able to find 5.7's for a lot more than 20k, especially the newer ones going for upwards of 30. But I'll keep my eyes open. Do you have any recommendations for where to look??
Thanks for the reply!
I love the 1st gen charger. Thats why i got my 2010 instead of a 2011+. IMO the 06-10 have a WAY better exterior, but the 2011+ have better interior.

I'm a fan of the first generation ones as well. I just want to make sure that if I'm spending so much on a car that it's going to last. But I would agree with you on the whole exterior/interior thing as well. Thanks for your reply!
So close to buying a 2012 white 5.7l today! it had just over 18,000 miles on it and I offered as much as 22k, but they wouldn't go any lower than 23. The salesman wanted the 22k but he brought out his manager and he said no. AHHHHHHHHH so close
I had a 2006 Daytona and now have a 2014 RT. I liked the seats in the Daytona much better, but I like the rest of the interior in the new car much better. It's also much quieter. The new car seems to handle better and it definitely has more power (375 hp vs 350). I like both body styles about the same. But in the end, I think the 2nd gen is a better overall car.
Yeah after driving it today I would agree with everything you said. I have driven an 06 Daytona and this felt maybe a little mire powerful and it was definitely more quiet. I'm hopeful that I can find another 2nd gen r/t that I can afford and sell my see while I'm at it. Thanks for the reply:bigthumb:
Just keep looking if you are in no big rush. It will likely come down to what is the best option in your price range if you are open to either body style, as I know some people feel strongly about one style versus the other.
Well at this point I think I'm going to go with the second gen, because I think with the lower miles I will have the car longer. And I'm really starting to come around to it's look now. How long did it you guys too did your chargers?
