Got my Frostbite WBSP in March, and absolutely love the car, it currently has 13,000 miles. The sound of this thing makes it all worth while. Well, recently swapped out the stock air intake for a K&N air intake, and it seems to have given the exhaust a different sound. Not necessarily in a bad way either, but it doesn’t sound as raspy or harsh as I remember. It sounds amazing still and still has those heavenly pops on the down shifts and still smacks when shifting to the next gear up but for lack of better words, it has more of a tuned sound, cleaner almost and maybe even a tad quieter? Can this be? Car just left dealer ship with no codes or issues with the active exhaust system. Would love to know if this is regular when switching from the stock closed box air intake, to K&N open air intake.

No.

You're just hearing the intake over the exhaust note.

Not unless you messed with the throttle body during the install.

no, I didn’t mess with it. One last thing
6.4 Scat: Just recently had my left active exhaust actuator valve fixed and the springs lubricated, I had fealt misfires and had at first heard the valves squeaking at start up and when In eco and also at idle it was very rough, shaky and I even heard noises in the engine bay as if there were maybe little critters fighting it out in there. Also fealt a slight reduction in power at the top end almost as if struggling. No RPM fluctuation at idle though. So I brought it in on the assumption that it was the Active Exhaust not opening when on the throttle, therefor throwing off the balance of the exhaust to intake pressure. But now that I have it back, at idle and only at idle, both in eco and track mode, it is very rough, shaky and has sounds coming from the engine bay (maybe misfire). Could this be that my spark plugs maybe need replacing? I did just install a K&n air intake, could I have installed it incorrectly and that’s what’s giving me a rough idle? My scats at 14,000 miles, 8,000-10,00 of those were driven like I stole it. Let me know if I’m just way off on this or with any information I may have put here.

First off you don't need Sprak Plugs at 14,000 miles. They are actually good for well over 60,000. I believe they are supposed to be changed at 100,000 miles.

Anyway Your Temp sensor might be not in leaking or not getting signal correctly. Check the Temp sensor , the one that sticks into the Intake that you should have re used from the stock setup.

Take a few pics of the engine bay, your K&N install so I can look at it and see if the Temp sensor is in all the way. You might have an issue there it not reading the correct intake temperature.

Okay, let me get some pics of that. I did find it very difficult to insert the sensor without it falling through or popping out when trying to install it on the new intake and ended up having to actually take the o-ring off the sensor because the fit was just to tight. The rubber grommet you stick it through was air tight around the sensor still even though I did remove the sensors o-ring. I’ll get some pics together though.
