Itís definitely doable and while taking everything out and putting everything back in may be a big task itís doable for sure they make a kit that comes with everything to put into any car to make it work

That is a helluva lot more than the $10k you have. Anywho it doesn't say it will fit in a 2006 Charger.

As said above I don't think the transmission will fit.

Give Cleveland a call, like I suggested, and tell them what you are planning. They will give you an approximate cost to transfer over the Hellcat to your RT. It could save you some time and money.

BTW, the turnkey kits I have seen are for pre 74 Dodge rides for when you purchase the crate engine.

Those running pallets are for retrofitting them into much older cars. Surprisingly it is actually EASIER to swap that into say a 70 Charger than say an 06 with the extensive computer setup it already has. I've already looked into having a factory 392 VVT swap into my 06. Not worth the expense and loss of functionality. But hey, you're a know it all kid who isn't going to take anyone's advice, gonna do it anyway and most likely waste the not considerable check you are going to get every 2 weeks, so go for it! Let us know how it goes lol!

What am I missing here?

Where in the world are you finding wrecked Hellcat Charger's for $11k? Not calling you a fibber, but I don't buy it. Plus, you said you have $10k to spend, and I know the link you provided isn't what you're looking to buy, but should give you some insight. That motor is $26k. You're $10k won't go very far. As others have said, it's doable, but a mountain of work that I think is going to involve a lot more time and money than you expect.

*Traded* 2010 Charger R/T AWD. Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl exterior, black leather interior, front chin spoiler, Flowmaster Original 40's, tinted windows.

*Current* 2013 Charger SRT8 Super Bee. Black. Flowmaster Super 40's, and 20% tint all around.

Over the years I've been here I've seen a lot of threads just like this with SXT guys wanting to drop in SRT drivetrain and never once seen it actually done.

This is pretty much the same idea.

Anywho...good luck. Post pics/vids along the way. Should be an interesting project.

Just an FYI your recruiter may not have mentioned, and I know this from 20+ yrs (and counting) active service, if you're getting a $10,000 sign on bonus...you aren't getting $10,000. Federal gov't charges 27% tax right off the top on things like that. So at best you will receive a little over $7000 actually in your pocket. Just some food for thought.
