Up badging has been around since the beginning of time. PERIOD.
back in the day, it was a "clone" or a "tribute" car. now its up badging, or "posing". even further back if you look back when women and men wore the wigs in public and court, and corsets with flared dresses, people who were aristocrats and the high society. but you knew back in those times soap wasn't common and sometimes a bath was only every few days. lets be real. they gave the appearance that they were hot ish….
The worst part of it, is truly usually mainly the forum folk against it. When did so many grown men, become such whiny crying menstrual beings??? aren't you supposed to be driving "MUSCLE CARS"??? nothing personal, but those that get offended by this, its directed at them. mainly.
sure, up badging can throw off a few. but for those it throws off, are they really anything credible or someone to worry about??? for example, since everyone of the whiners complain about another car getting a false win impression: if a guy in a mustang GT from 2007, not the newest gen (2015+) races a guy in a SXT badged up to an SRT 2017 with scatpack/srt body appearance. if he or she cant tell that the v6 engine makes a significantly different noise than any of the v8's, then goes off and brags... is a person of that caliber anything worth FEARING (because lets face it, if you worry about what other brands of car owners think...that's FEAR)? there's ZERO difference than a guy who has WHATEVER car, and blazes out off of someone simply accelerating normally, but then runs back to the forums and posts how he took down goliath (a car more powerful than his). to which most of the forum will call him on his bs.
Is it right to do it??? .... debatable. But then you have to factor in with your daily life, how often does it occur?
If you think about how much up badging goes on in REAL life, doing it on a car doesn't really matter in reality. at least not for me.
- How many of you take your wives to get their hair dyed, or dye your own beards?
- All the men wearing hair plugs, toupee's, and the women wearing wigs, or have extensions, and all the celebrity women with the additional strands added in to make it fuller. (many of the women you guys lust after)
- How many of you have females in your lives that have gotten cosmetic surgery to look younger or look different? (many of you pleasure yourself to bigger boobs, smaller liposuction waists, and collagen injected lips...when previously that female looked like a teen boy)
- If there are at least 10,000 members here, some of you undoubtedly stuff a sock in your pants at some point of your life. just saying. proven fact.
- They have t-shirts for guys, waist trainers for guys and girls, corsets, girdles, etc... to make your waist APPEAR smaller. and you'll go to your outing, wedding, dinner, etc, and when people say "oh you lost weight!" you accept the compliment.
- Botox.... need I say more... its just chemical up badging, to where people will compliment someone old saying they look so youthful!
- When you know people that load up on perfumes and colognes to mask them simply cleaning themselves (everyone has been around teens and axe body spray)
- guys that walk around at the gym with their lats flared out and CANT bench their own body weight of 200 lbs, sometimes less. (or the guy who acts super strong, but neglects leg day)
- Instagram, how many of you or your wives or girl friends are on there with FILTERS. you're advertising something that isn't real. (even worse when horny people start messaging you cause they think you are this or that, but really aren't. you play along cause you like the attention)
- Facebook. anyone with fake profiles cheating on their wives? or is Tinder your choice:grin2: the MTV show of Catfish is famous for this. if youre in an older generation, youtube mtv catfish. then shed a tear for your successive generations.
- Anything social media where you take awesome pics and constantly post, but really your life sucks, but you upbadge it so your followers envy you, while some of you only wish you could be there.
See there's many things we'll look past cause its not a car, and some of you indulge in those things. But its the same concept. some will make an excuse that "its different"... but really, its not.
These are ALL things where in the true spirit of UPBADGING, CLONING, or making a TRIBUTE to something else, be it a car, or lifestyle, etc... Its not the real you, the real car, your real life. but you do these things to satisfy YOU. which REALLY should be the only person worried about what you do with YOUR CAR, YOUR LIFE, YOUR WIFE/HUBBY, YOUR FACE, etc.... you gotta be comfy and happy in your own skin, ride, life, household. Everyone else is already gonna judge you. why not be happy? people are gonna look and say 1 of 2 things:
1) "oh he changed the badges on his car, honey. oh well" ---> their life goes on.
or
2) "OMG!!!! he changed the badges of his car!!! I gotta get a pic of this and run back to the forum and post it and make fun of him. it'll make me feel cool and part of the IN crowd" ---> this is the highlight of their day. maybe single. or have a significant other who are both on tinder but smile at each other lovingly everyday. you now prove to be "THAT PERSON" who was probably a snitch growing up. that whiny kid that if something wasn't how they wanted, they ran and told on whoever.
Now I get it....some people up badge and have elaborate stories of how much HP it makes (which is usually fabricated highly) and who they beat. like a guy in a 5.7 R/T that took down a hellcat, and Hennessey's Exorcist in the same day with his stock engine and sneaky Pete 10 shot of nitrous... not 100...TEN.
but then again, why would you worry or more so fear what this person is gonna portray? people with basic minimum common sense will figure out his BS, once he tells you his house is so big, Nasa can see it from space, and if they zoom in his wife, Cindy Crawford is usually sun bathing around 2pm daily.
In the end, if you are bent out of shape what someone does with their money, their car, etc... that you don't pay a single dime towards. then you are the problem that has the problem. not them. whether they are naïve or intentional, they prob realize that one day, when they die, none of this bs is really gonna matter, you cant take it with you, and people that really matter are the only ones that are gonna remember you anyways. not some guy on the internet with an issue of how or what you built or added to your car. so they do what THEY want. not what you want.
