Now that I've had my car a few days, I've discovered some annoying issues:
- The rain-sensing wipers don't work at all, despite being enabled in Settings. When you use any of the settings on the stalk, they will wipe once and then never again.
- The lane-keep assist is, for lack of any better term, mis-aligned. It won't let me get anywhere near the left line, and I can go right over top of the right line before it reacts. I wish I could just disable it completely, but it'd be nice if it at least worked correctly.
- The auto high beams are slightly crazy. They work about 70% of the time. The other 30% they either don't shut off for an oncoming vehicle, or will go off and then go back on BEFORE the car passes, or when they DO work right, it takes up to 5-6 seconds after a car passes before they come back on. This may also happen when I turn them on myself.
- The uConnect system has crashed once when switching from Radio to Media. Made a lovely noise and I had to turn the car off and open the door and wait several minutes for it to finally shut off.
The high beams are definitely wonky, as the new 2019 that I had for four days worked perfectly.
I have an extended warranty so I'm hoping it'll cover this stuff... but wanted to post here in case others have had these issues or if there are ways to fix this stuff without a trip to the dealer.
I've got a 2011 and all of those things still work correctly. If I just got something that new I would have them fix it to my satisfaction real fast. If not you may get stuck with ongoing issues.

You can disable by depressing proper button on the dash (believe it's the third button to the right in the low row of punch buttons below/between the radio knobs). Found the lane keep function a big PITA; 'it' didn't like my regular form of driving.

UConnect 8.4NAV been a rather big annoyance throughout ownership with several random problems reappearing after several service visits, finally a new 'radio', ala head unit, installed, but still getting occasional blank screen in start-ups and having to push the on/off radio knob to reboot. Not happy w/UConnect.

We're sorry to hear you're having such a tough time with your Charger. If you need an additional layer of assistance with the servicing process, let us know. We're available via direct message and would be happy to help.
I rode in my Brother-in-law's new 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie the day before Easter and his auto headlights were FUBAR too... wouldn't let him turn on the high beams out in the middle of nowhere when we drove in the general direction of the moon (East)... I didn't think the nearly full moon was bright enough to mess with the sensors but it did.
I got my windshield replaced yesterday since it was already messed up before I bought it (the dealer paid for it). The installation guy says, "hey did your rain sensing wipers work?" I said no. He goes, "I know why -- whoever installed the last windshield didn't put the sensor back in correctly." And he fixed it. We tested it and now they work.
This morning on the way to work, I thought I would see if the lane assist worked any better. I turned it on, but it never "engaged." The icon just stayed white. We'll see if it works on the way home. I'll also have to test the auto high beams because I THINK it uses the same sensor... but I'm not sure. It's entirely possible that it uses the rain sensor.
Hi robgadv
We understand why this may be concerning. Please feel free to let us know if you decide to have your dealer look into this. We are available via private message and we'll gladly provide you with additional assistance while your vehicle is at the dealer.
