Trunk release stopped working

Had the car in the shop this past weekend to have the CD player replaced for a stuck cd and to have the right-rear wheelhouse inner fender replaced as it was cracked.

Get it home, and discovered the trunk release button in the cabin area and electronic key-fob release are now not working. Had been working days earlier.

Is there anything with the maint activities performed on the car that could have caused this, or does this sound coincidental? And if so, any ideas what may be at fault? TIA -

There might be a switch inside the trunk, by the internal release that you can use to enable/disable keyless operation.

..just a thought tho, good luck.

On my girlfriend's Nissan Sentra there was a little switch that made it so only the key would open the trunk. I'm not sure if it's like that on our cars as well, but it could be. I asked them what it was for and they coughed up some garbage about preventing valet's from getting in your trunk. Of course he had nothing to say when I mentioned the idea that they have the keys anyways. Perhaps that idea is why I didn't think to look for a little switch like that in the first place.

I'm outta the Marine Corps and going back to school... Never too late, right!!! 07 R/T TorRed not enough mods yet...

Exclamation

There is no shut off switch for the decklid release. There is also no joint connector between the decklid harness and the body harness. The body harness just runs all the way through the decklid. I have had broken wires in the tube going to the decklid. (Mostly high mount stop light issues, others the decklid release.

There's no separate fuse for the trunk release. If the fuse blows, parts of the instrument cluster go out, too.
