Safety Rules & Questions @ LX & BEYOND NATIONALS

I just wanted to bring some items to your ATTENTION for the upcoming
LX & BEYOND NATIONALS.

I called National Trails Raceway this afternoon and here are the questions and answers that I received......................

(1)---Do your sell fuel at the track ?
they sell 110; c-12, methanol, and regular

(2)---Is there an air compressor with a chuck ?
THERE IS ONE ON THE PIT SIDE, BY TECH

(3)---Do you refill nitrous bottles at the track ?
the answer is NO, but Jeg's does; they are 20 minutes away

(4)---Will their be security at the track after hours ?
the answer is YES; from 7pm to 7am

(5)---Do you broadcast the PA announcements over the radio ?
the answer is YES; on FM Station 88.3

(6)---What is the exact elevation of the track ?
the answer is 900 feet above sea level

(7)---Do you have a weather station at the track ?
the answer is NO; so check it the day before; online

(8)---Is there a scale to weigh our vehicles at the track ?
the answer is YES, and it works, and it is FREE to use

(9)---Can the track keep track of the Quick 16 qualifying ?
the answer is YES

(10)--Can the Bump Spot be posted on the scoreboard for the Quick 16 ?
the answer is YES

(11)--Is National Trails going to enforce the 11.49 roll bar rule ?
THE ANSWER IS 100%-----YES

The 2nd time your car goes quicker than 11.49 and your vehicle does NOT have a roll bar you will be disqualified and your racing is DONE !!!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Last but NOT least I can NOT stress it enough, make sure that you have your entry form and check by 4-30-08 to be eligible for Giant DOOR PRIZES. We have some Door Prizes that are worth around $1,300 each.........

JUST ADDED: (as of 4-8-08) One VERY important fact that I left out is a PERFECT LIGHT or Reaction Time is .000

So if you see .412 as you Reaction Time that means that you slept in the lights by 4/10 of a second and that is NOT good.

If you have any questions feel free to ask in here or PM me.

Looking forward to a Great Event
Chuck Green

You will need a helmet if you go 13.99 or quicker.
You can take a passenger as long as the car does NOT go quicker than 14.00.
Remember for every 100 pounds that you add to the car, the car will slow down by .12 seconds. For example let's say your car runs 13.88 with you; and your wife wants to go for a ride; and she weighs 125 pounds then your car should run 14.03.

Great post Chuck! Thanks!

It'll be interesting (to me at least) to scale my SXT/AWD and see what the weight distribution is, as well as the total. I've even thought about using the CAT scale at the truck stop, even though they kinda look at you funny when you put a car on there!

(as an aside, I did scale my Blazer when I had it loaded to the hilt driving from AZ to PA- returning from college. I then checked my tire pressures, according to the weight the scale showed. I was VERY glad I did! I had brand new tires on it, fresh from the tire shop... not ONE of the tires had the same pressure!! They were as much as 20 lbs. difference total! sheesh)

The scale is one that weighs your WHOLE car at one time, you drive on it. It is NOT the type that weighs each wheel point.

stupid cage rule, lol.

should be fun. Big question. You said the second time you break 11.49 you are done. What if the first time you break it is in the finals? Does your pass count?

thanks

Is there a difference between a roll "bar" and a roll "cage"?

11.99 - 11.00 NHRA legal rollbar
9.99 - 9.00 NHRA legal rollcage
