There is a group buy going on right now thru CarbonByDesign (supporting vendor). They have SRT hoods that are identical to the OEM version and bolt up exactly the same. Fiberglass hood is only $499, which is much cheaper than the stock aluminum hood and you save a little weight as well.

I chose to go with the OEM hood for 2 reasons. One is fit and finish. A fiberglass part will never fit as well as a steel or aluminum part. And it will usually require some finish work to make it look right. Two, I don't know how well, if at all, a fiberglass hood will hold up in a frontal crash. The factory hood is designed with crumple zones that enable it to fold up and absorb impact. I don't know that the fiberglass hood will do that.

My hood had to be scuffed and shot and then it was installed. No finish work at all, which saved me money. And I don't have to worry about safety. To me, that was worth the extra money I paid to get an OEM hood.

Yes, 100% Stock. The '07 RT w/ RT also has the red stitching in the seats and wheel.
