Fuel Door Release

I HOPE someone else has done this on thier first fill-up. I was at the gas station for my first fill-up. I look all over the drivers side area for the fuel door release. I swear I was there at least 15 minutes looking for it and looking real stupid to everyone around. I didn't have my manual with me because I was reading it at home before I went to get gas. I got home and read page 256, i think, and still didnt see a diagram for the fuel release. I gave it to my wife to look at and she said, "uh honey, all you have to do is push the left side of the door and it opens." Man I felt stupid. She hasn't let me forget it yet and probably won't for a while.

Re: Fuel Door Release

I didn't do that on my first fill-up. LOL

And, unfortunately, the first fill-up was just five minutes after signing the papers. Had to fill 'er up to full to start my cross-country trek back home.

Re: Fuel Door Release

actually on my Magnum I did the that. I got a full tank when I bought it, and drove around for a couple days...went to fill it up and spend about 10 minutes looking for a release or something. I ended up calling the dealership and it took them like 15 minutes to get back to me. Finally they figured it out and I got gas.

Re: Fuel Door Release

Me me me!!! I was searching everywhere and then i went to the book. Funny thing was the gas station guy beat me to it. By the time i said you need to push in the door on the left he said "yeah i know how much?"

Another thing that alot of new owners do not know is there is a little hook on your fuel door to hang up your cap so it does not slap around and scratch your car. Just thought I would let you know.

Re: Fuel Door Release

I also spent about 15 min. looking for the release before I gave up and went to the manual. I just looks like it should have a release instead of just pushing on the left side.
