Next Gen Charger

I havent posted much lately, but I notice how everyone who once hated the new Charger are now embracing it. Its just funny to me. I like the new chargers (SRT). Some people here were dead set against it and I see they have now seen the light. LOL

I stick with my original assessment;

rear taillights are kickass

split rear window sucks moose balls

front grille is fugly

rear fenders lost a lot of the "muscle" look

interior is better but the touch screen controlling just about everything is a bad idea, IMHO

A lot of folks like the new gen, which is good for them...and Dodge.

I haven't changed my mind however, just like Flex...it's not for me.

It doesn't mean I don't appreciate that others love them and are doing nice mods on them that look great.

Perhaps what the OP is sensing is the fading of the vocal disappointment some first gen owners had that is now turned to quiet acceptance of their existence. That doesn't mean they have "seen the light" and are now buying them.

And, in the true spirit of Mopar brotherhood, both gens are now equally accepted and appreciated by nearly all on the Forum...even if we might individually have a strong preference for one over the other.

What Flex and dDaddy said, they said for me.

If something happens to my 2008, odds are very slim I'll be picking up a 2011+. If I have to get a car I don't like, there are a lot of choices.

I'm gonna need a new car soon 131K miles. I can't afford anything I like though, and I have gotten used to not having a car payment.

I agree with Flex and Ddaddy.
The front end is down right ugly.

Im in the other end, i Hated the 06-10 Gen but i fell in love with the 11+'s.

the older model looked too much like a 300 to me and the front grill looked too cheap for me.

but whenever i drive by one i cant help but give them a "thumbs up".

Following what Ddaddy and Flex and others said. I have accepted that others like the new ones and that is fine. Not going to be changing or trading in the 06. Hasn't even hit 10k miles yet!!

Like the taillights on the new one. Other than that, just not a fan. BUT not dissing anyone that does like them. Have lots of new Charger customers and respect their choice as well!

Regards,
Brian

If I was going to drive a 2011+ it would look something like this (I'm not, but I do like the look )
