Didn't run it in safe mode, but did run a complete scan. I'll start it up tonight to run in safe mode.

And if you are using adblock and they are still showing up just create your own custom filter and type in ebaystatic.com^

X2! Took me a bit to customize mine because certain ads would slip through the cracks.

Put me down as another vote for FireFox with AdBlock and NoScript.

Strangely enough, I thought I got the tip to use that combination from this very site a long time ago...

Some viruses are definitely hardwired to take over Exploder, to the extent that they'll do that even if loaded though FF.

If you're lucky enough to get one so new that you cannot remove it through a killer, then you can usually manually edit things out of your registry to fix it. If you edit out too much, then all of your Microsoft products might lose their registration info and keep giving you annoying messages, which happened to me about a year ago, so be careful with that approach...

But ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge: it is those who know little, and not those who know much, who so positively assert that this or that problem will never be solved by science. - Charles Darwin, The Descent of Man.
