ETC lighting bolt light on dash HELP!!!!

I have noticed now on 2 seperate occasions when cruising at about 70-75 on the interstate my car engine started revving up and down on its on and continued to do so until i exited and once i put it in park it idled at very RPMs until I shut it off. Then it started right back up like normal. Then about 2 weeks later(yesterday) it happend again. I looked in the manual and it mentioned something about the "electronic throttle control" Help guys before i go get misused and abused at a dealer ship.

You probably need a new accelerator pedal assembly. It has the throttle control rheostat on it that measures pedal position for the engine computer to adjust the throttle body plate, etc. They wear out or can get broken over time.
