I have been continuing to work on my skills of digital painting of vintage WWII aircraft. I thought I'd share a few select ones.
Let me know what you think...

I take images I like (mostly small parts of photos) and strip them down to a basic sketch and combine them with other images (other planes, cloud backgrounds, etc) and work them through 5 different graphic programs (Photoshop, MS Office, MS Paint, Fotoflexer and Windows Live editor) to create a final image that looks like a a painting.
Most of the images take 4-8 hours of work to create. The one with the two bombers and the Mustang took more than 30 hours to complete. I finished the Flying Tigers one today and have about 10 hours in it.
I'm glad you like them!

Hey, looks like that A-10 'bolt is using the 30mm for air to air combat! Cool!

Did you notice the change in the nose art? I always thought the Warthog should have warthog nose art instead of the old "Flying Tiger" nose art...JMHO.

My favorite aircraft has to be the B-52. I spent 3 weeks building and painting an 'advanced' level model as a kid; then my mother let a toddler 'play' with it. "Oh, what harm could the baby do?" Damn I miss that plane.
You wouldn't happen to have any digital paintings of a B-52 would you? Perhaps on an active carpet bombing run.
