OK - 2 points (cos I'm feelin' Dr Evil...)

Why carry the cost and technical issues of moving the battery to the rear for weight distribution?

Heat actually improves lead/acid battery performance - cold kills it!

Right - time for another drink!

Mostly; Just better weight distribution. The extra lbs. is better used closer to the drive wheels.

Because there wasn't enough room in the glove compartment.

Batteries are required to start our vehicle. lol

Because the PCM is located where the Battery would typically go.
