black ops 2 worth buying?

Just what the title says....

I thought black ops 1 was just too choppy with the movements compared to mw2-3.

I haven't seen my son since he's gotten it... so I'm assuming its good.. I'm not a gamer myself, but seems to be the big thing right now. I stood in line for 1 hour to pickup his pre-order copy.

Not if you want to play online. Storyline is pretty cool, lots of key military characters from the 80's and even that ex-CIA dude that's going through the scandal is in it. But true Call of Duty die hard gamers are not liking it. I haven't played online yet but once I finish the storyline, I'll give it a go.

I was wondering about this myself. One of the main reasons I loved the first Black Ops was because it reminded me of Counter Strike. No vehicles and all that just straight up FPS, so I'm little put off by the added vehicles, granted it can still be cool but just seems to complicate things? I dunno. It's either this or Halo, I know I know, it has vehicles but since it's a fantastic world the mechanics work differently than it would in Black Ops I would imagine.

I have to add my two cents. I have Black Ops 2 but didn't buy the first Black Ops. I have been a long time COD player and couldnt deal with the same game wrapped up as something new for $60. I purchased the new one mainly for the Zombie mode. My wife loves to sit there with me and murder hundreds of the walking dead.

I think the multiplayer has improved and the campaign is pretty good. I would recommend it but if there was a new Battlefield out I never would have looked at Black Ops 2.

For what its worth I also picked up the Need for Speed Most Wanted and absolutly love that game. Found the Challenger and Viper in the first 5 mins and spent the night cruising around the city. I will admit I didn't stick with the Challenger long. I found the GTR and started drifting.
