dome lights, trunk release not working

I'd appreciate a little help.

I plugger a phone charger into the cig. lighter outlet, and a small piece fell out causing a short. Now the dome lights, the a/c back lights, and the trunk release button don't work. I reviewed the owner's manual fuse chart I can't find which fuse(s) need to be replaced.

Thanks guys!

Did you use the lighter in the dash or the outlet in the center console? What kind of piece fell out?

Hey Crazy. It was the outlet directly under the a/c, the cig lighter outlet. The piece was the tip of the phone charger. I removed the piece, but I saw a small arc/spark when it fell in.

I can't remember the fuse # off the top of my head, but I'm sure I know which one it is. I was going to tap into it for something else since that one looses power when the ignition is off.

The cig fuse is located in the trunk search for the "adding a sub" thread it's the fuse used to power the amp. The small piece you speak of sounds like the fuse located in the phone charger.

Thanks Pots. I replaced fuse #18 with a yellow 20 amp fuse, but no joy. Does #18 also control the trunk release, dome lights and a/c lights?

I am more than positive that its fuse 18 because it was one of the fuses i blew a couple weeks ago. I lost the Dome lights and the trunk release so if replacing the fuse didnt help you might have to bring her to the dealer for service.

Thanks TJ, I'll double check, but I'm certain I replaced it. I'll post my results.
