How do you measure trans temp? (Which scantool?)

So I've only eyeballed the trans fluid refill after I dropped the pan and replaced the trans filter at 135k. The stupid scantool from Autozone and Advance could not find trans temp... or I could not find trans temp in the scan tool.

So which scan tool do I need to read the trans temp??? I'm looking for a rental... Not really in the mood to buy a $250 Dashhawk for a this project.

I figure at 151k I should know what my trans fluid level is at.

Thanks

And that's why I can't help you. I'm certain the big boys like DashHawk and DashDAQ can do it, but no clue about cheap tools.

Dashhawk can do it, if you're in the Albuquerque area, I'd meet up with you and let you use mine.

The Aeroforce Interceptor guage can show Trans. Temp. also. Just make sure you're in Drive, or it defaults to the coolant temperature in P or N... I don't know if the DashHawk does the same thing, or not.

Dashawk can measure the trans temp in park & neutral, or any gear.
