Engine light, and oil light

Hello, New to this forum. I have an 06 5.7. Two days ago the engine lite comes on. I had already planned an oil change, so we had it done yesterday (Fri), hoping the lite would turn off. It didnt, and now when I come to a stop, my oil lite goes on. Oil pressure dropped to 0 while at a stop lite. I found this forum yesterday, ran a diagnostic and got codes--P1521 (wrong oil?), its not, and P0520 Oil pressure switch. WHen in neutral, Pushing the gas, the oil pressure goes up. Let off gas and it goes back down. Would this be the sensor, or oil pump, not pumping? Is this something I can fix, or should I just take it to the Dodge stealer? ANy help would be appreciated
thanks Chris

If the lights came on right after the oil change, then they used the wrong oil and charged out on the ticket the correct type.

If you have a Predator you can try shutting off the MDS and see if the problem is still there .... if it goes away, then you definitely have the wrong oil, as the MDS system requires 5w20 oil to operate.

No Predator. The car is stock. Would the wrong oil affect the pressure sensor, also?

Bossman mentioned in the original post that the engine light came on a day before the oil change so something else may be wrong. One way to know what is happening is to have the oil pressure checked using a mechanical pressure gauge. Since you have to remove the pressure sensor to do this, you might as well have a replacement sensor available to stick in if the mech gauge reading is OK.

Thanks for everybodys replies. Its my wifes car, and I am getting the whole story in bits and pieces. I overheard her telling someone that both lights came on Before the oil change. I am going to replace the sensor, and have the pressure checked. Then we will see. I will repost my findings.
thanks Chris

All fixed, it was the sensor. Aparently the Chargers dont like the elusive Cold weather that we are having here in SW Florida. Mec. said that he has seen alot of the sensors going bad due to the weather. $180.00 later all is well. Thanks for everyones help.

I got the p0520 code a couple days ago, second time in 6 months. 1st time they changed the sensor, reflashed everything, then changed my oil without my permission. 6000 miles later, 2000 of which is on a fresh RP oil change, I get the code again.

Any ideas, at 98,000 miles?
